Home School KiDS   Invitation to our   Keepers of the Faith Club...
Keepers of the Faith is a type of Christian boy scout/girl scout program that is set up to be home school or any school friendly.  The badges are challenging, but not too much work.  We meet once a month, which is nice for busy home schoolers.  We meet on Saturdays for 2 hours from 130-330pm.  We begin the time with the scripture lessons from the badges.  Life skills are taught in the context of God's Word.  We bring an expert or two and they help teach certain skills; The kids can work on their badge at home or they can work on it mostly at the meetings.  Whatever works best for your family is just fine.   It's a really fun time.

We sang Christmas Carols at Florence Home in December and had a great time with the residents there!
The boys did some hands on small engine repair and tool work.  The girls have been sewing and making cute little handmade bean bag dolls.  Thanks Kathy Kernodle & Linda Goodrich for making this such a success!  We're continuing with sewing small projects for the girls; with the goal being that they will learn to sew nicely by hand.  The boys are studying computers with their dads.  The boys like to wrap up their Saturday Keeper's Clubs with a football game!

We've been meeting on Saturdays at Mike & Gretchen's home at 5606 Florence Blvd.
We encourage moms and dads to both come if possible.  We're very excited about this club.  Anyone is invited to come-even just to check it out!

Keepers of the Faith asks that if a family wants make a regular commitment to this club; that they would purchase a badge book which is where you record their progress in these different areas.  It's a wonderful book and totally worth it!  The cost is about $14 or so.  For more info on Keepers of the Faith you can go to www.keepersofthefaith.com and look under the clubs section.

When the kids earn badges they cost about $2.50 each and you can purchase them from Keepers of the Faith.  At the end of the year we're going to have a banquet and award badges to the kids!
Lord bless you,
Mike & Gretchen & kids

PS:  We have some needy children who come; who do not have parental encouragement to finish their badges.  If there were any older home school students who would want to help tutor these children-it would be great volunteer work and would REALLY MINISTER to these families.
