From Phoenix: 

Take 1-17 North to Route 69, which is the Cordes Junction exit.

Take Route 69 toward Prescott/Prescott Valley

You will pass Young’s Farm in Dewey on your right and look for the Prescott Country Club on the left.  There is a lighted intersection and Fain Rd.  Turn right at Fain Rd.

Drive approx. 9 miles to the lighted intersection of Hwy 89A, turn North (right)

Travel 14 miles & follow the Mingus Recreation Areas signs as you travel the last few miles before the summit.

Turn right at the Mingus Summit Picnic Area, located on your right. This is a large paved USFS parking/picnic area that is lighted above the restrooms at night.  You will see 4 mailboxes on your right (one for the camp), immediately after turning.

Follow the Forest Service dirt road 2.5 miles to the Mingus Mountain UM Camp.

The camp will be on the left (north) side of the road just beyond a small fishing lake.

Look for the redwood fence & camp sign in front of the camp.

 

Getting Started
Here is info on how to Register/Sign-in when you arrive at Mingus

 Pull into the Second camp entry road and drive COUNTER-CLOCKWISE around the circular camp drive.
 At about midway will be the dining hall.  Back in when parking and go into register.

 After registering, drive your vehicle to your lodging area & unload all your belongings.

 After unloading, please move your car to the front parking lot where you first came in to the camp to allow space for other vehicles.

 No vehicles are allowed on the camp grounds at night.

Arrive anytime after 3p.m.
