MiniGolf CT ReviewsConnecticut Golf Land & Games
Our Review
Connecticut Golf Land and Games is an expansive fun center with arcade, bumper boats, go-karts, and even a Subway restaurant. The miniature golf course is a part of this, but not the best part. The course is right along the road, and only a plastic-type fence seperates the two, possibly a safety hazard. The course itself is similar to Ocean Beach Park and Saybrook Point Miniature Golf, however, so I can’t give it many originality points. The Double Trouble hole is definitely trouble: you must get the ball in the hole on both levels. There is no back way to go, which adds to the skill level and originality. The real trouble I saw was the wood chips on the first part and the ball stopping at the end of the pipe, instead of traveling out into the hole. The Schoolhouse is a bunch of trouble as well. You must hit the ball gently enough so it goes into the schoolhouse and out onto the green, but hard enough to get it up the slope, or it will bounce out. The rim of the hole was slightly bent, so my second shot from the right side would have made it except for the rim. The dog leg, named “Fox Tower,” was a dogleg with an obstacle to go under, so it was even harder to bank the shot. Some of the greens had the hole lower than the surrounding area, and some holes were raised up so the ball rolled away from the hole. This, along with other problems, gave the course its 3 rating.
Visitor Review
It was less than I expected for Golf Land, and it seemed more like a side show than a main attracton. No big tunnels or windmills or anything. I'm a big fan of tunnels, and I was dissapointed by that. I do not recommend this course, as it is better to stay in their arcade or go karts. |
