MiniGolf CT ReviewsR&B's Sports World
Visitor Review
R&B Sports is one of those multi-sport complexes that includes a a Go-Kart track, batting cages, billiards, table hockey and other sports along with a minature golf course. It was a busy place on the Saturday night we visited. The clientele was a pleasant combination of young families and teenagers. Noisy but friendly. The minigolf course is fairly new, somewhat creative and quite attractive. Maintenance appeared first-rate and the entire course was clean and well lit for night play. A few straight shots, all long, and many obstacle holes that incorporate bends and curves as well as the usual compliment of chute shots and a creative twist of the obligatory windmill on the 18th hole. Although R&B Sports is located in rural Winsted, I found the minigolf course setting a tad sterile but it's clean layout and excellent upkeep balanced that out. Par is 45 and quite reachable. In our party of three, one experienced player came in at 6 under par while his playing partners were both 4 over. Wait until next time! Parking is more than ample and restroom facilities are clean. The snack bar serves delicious ice cream and other high-calorie snacks, just as they should. The only negative aspect of our visit was the fact that the Go-Kart track runs along the back 9 of the minigolf course. This means that you have to contend with the roar of about a dozen lawn-mower engines whizzing by while attempting to set up and hit your putts. I found this to be distracting (we had to shout at other to be heard) but not to the point that I wouldn't return to this pretty and mildly challenging putting course. I'll just be sure to wear earplugs next time. |
