Our family began our involvement with Growing Families International in 1992 after the birth of our third child, Abigail.  At that time Abby was a newborn, Alyssa was just 16 months old, and Ashley was a very precocious five year old.  A “Preparation for Parenting” class had been offered at our local church, but we didn’t take it. It was our third child, not our first!  After six weeks of trying to handle the two little ones, we were humble enough to ask for help from a couple who DID take the course in preparation for their 3rd child!  Armed with the valuable information and encouraged by the depth of the teaching, we recognized our need to take the next course offered, “Growing Kids God’s Way.” As we heard and applied God’s Word to parenting, the nature of our family and our children changed.  God has blessed us with an awesome family and the teen years, as promised in “Growing Kids God’s Way” are joyful, fun years!   Our oldest daughter is now a mother and she and her husband are now applying the wisdom and truths from the current versions of GFI material in “On Becoming Babywise”.  We can say, from observation, that the plan still works, there is no expiration date on true wisdom from God’s Word.
