ASTEM for Mathcad-Pro (ASTEMMCP) is an add-on dynamic link library (DLL) for obtaining thermodynamic properties of water and steam based on the 1967 IFC Formulation for Industrial Use, "A Formulation of the Thermodynamic Properties of Ordinary Water Substance," (1967 IFC). ASTEMMCP also includes four additional transport properties: thermal conductivity, dynamic viscosity, surface tension and static dielectric constant. The user selects the working units as either English or Metric. ASTEMMCP is an uncrippled shareware product ($35.00 fee for use, plus $1.75 Va tax.)

ASTEMMCP also required (included) a supporting DLL (astemdll.dll) which contains the basic 1967 IFC equations (and is a C translation of a modified version of the original FORTRAN source code developed by K.V. Moore - see References in help file).

The thermodynamic properties are:
       Pressure
       Temperature
       Specific volume
       Specific internal energy
       Specific enthalpy
       Specific entropy
       State condition (liquid, vapor or mass quality)
       Specific heat capacity at p=cont
       Specific heat capacity at v=cont
       Isothermal compressibility
       Coefficient of thermal expansion
       Isentropic sonic velocity

Also included is a Windows95-based help file and a Mathcad Electronic Book with a few samples on using ASTEMMCP.

ASTEMMCP may be removed from your PC with the Windows95 Add/Remove control. (astemdll.dll is not automatically removed as it is considered to be a shared file - may be used by other programs - and is located in the \Windows\System\ directory.)

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
*** MAKE SURE YOU SELECT YOUR MATHCAD DIRECTORY FOR THE INSTALLATION
The "Typical" option is recommended. It will install all the components:

astemdll.dll to \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory
astemmcp.dll to the Mathcad ..\userefi directory
astemmcp.hlp to the Mathcad directory
astemmcp.cnt to the Mathcad directory
astemmcp.xml to the Mathcad ..\doc\funcdoc directory
Electronic Book to the Mathcad ..\handbook directory
and ..\handbook\astemmcp directory

astemmcp.xml (9K) is required for Mathcad8 only. Mathcad7 users may select the "Custom" option and not install the "Mathcad8 Component"
