ASTEM97 Evaluation User Guide Copyright Edward D. Throm (C) 2002 (1) Select Options from Menu Bar. (a) Use MPa for pressure in place of Pa for SI input/output.(*) (b) Use C for temperature in place of K for SI input/output.(*) (c) Use 9-digits for output - allows for verification. (d) Use packed output - best for single value copying.(*) (2) Select Units: Default is SI parameters set to p,T in Pa and K. Use Menu Option change from Pa to MPa or from K to C.(*) Select English parameters set to p,T in psia and F. (3) (a) Select Parameters, for standard property values. First select P, T, h or s. Then select second parameter from available list. (Note: selecting h automatically selects s selecting v allows only h or s ) (b) Select metastable region.(*) A single p,T option for input. (c) Select Ideal Gas region.(*) First select p or T. If p, select T or x. If T, x automatically selected. If x is one variable, regardless of the content in the input field, x is set to 1.0. Note: In going from one region to another, select the variable from the left-side first, then the appropriate second variable from the right-side list. (4) Enter appropriate data in Input fields, which will be identify by the variable and expected units. (5) Click "Get Properties" Button. Review the output pages (Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, Copy). (6) Click "Convert" button to convert the output from SI to English, or from English to SI.(*) Review output pages. To restore output, click the "Get Properties" button. (7) For temperature related calls, there may be more than one pressure (or quality) which satisfied the input values. A window will open with the additional answer(s). Select an answer and use the "Display Properties" button to display the results. Review, convert and copy output. To restore output, click the "Display Properties" button, also closed window. For the metastable region and the Ideal Gas region, the window will display the allowable temperature range if the input value is outside the range. The "Display Properties" button is disabled. (6) Under the "Copy" page the user can highlight specific values to copy to the Windows clipboard with the "Copy Selected" button or copy all the data with "Copy All" button.(*) (*) See "Limitations" for non-registered copy.
