" Short Snorter" - British Guiana $1 bank note with the names of the Marine Guard unit listed on it.

In September, 2009, I was contacted by Dick Haude, a numismatist and retired university professor in Ohio, saying that he had just acquired a $1 British Guiana banknote, dated 1938. On this bill, was a list of 25 men, obviously military personnel because the list had both ranks and names. He was unsuccessful with his internet search, so he asked his friend and fellow numismatist, Capt. David Klinger, USN, Ret., to help research the list. Capt. Klinger had found information about my Dad on this website.

Gy. Sgt J. A. Luko is listed third.
