We met several years ago as each other's blind dates -- a Deacon at church set us up. After becoming one another's best friends and toughing out some bad times together, we're making the leap! There's a ring - it is official!

I love photography, reading, music, dancing, cooking, long baths, hockey (especially the Penguins!), animals, the outdoors, sunflowers, cloudy days, sushi, seafood, good wine (especially whites and port), gardening, and, of course, chocolate!!
I've had an interesting career -- first as a TV reporter and, later, as a media consultant and public relations professional. I now work for a large school district which has led to lots of interesting opportunities for handling crisis (on the bad days) and meeting celebrities (on the good days). There is never ever a dull moment!!
When I first graduated from college, I entered the workforce as a television anchor/reporter. Since changing careers (almost a decade ago), I've spent much of my time working for non-profits ranging from tobacco-use prevention to organ donation to wildlife and outdoor recreation and, now, for a public school district.
My professional memberships include the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Arizona School Public Relations Association (ASPRA). I hope to soon add a membership to the National Information Officers Association (NIOA) to that list.
I'm a proud Texan (Gig 'Em Aggies!!) with Dutch, Irish and Native American roots. I also have strong Southern roots and, yes, I've even had a fried green tomato! In 2005, I entered an RCIA program and became an "official Catholic!"
I feel strongly about women's rights, protecting the environment and helping to assure the survival of the world's endangered species. (Wolves and primates like the gorilla have always held a special spot in my heart.) Leave no trace -- except that of a positive footprint.
Some things you might not guess about me right away include my background in biology, that I can fly fish and I'm a pretty good shot with a rifle & shotgun! I'm also the "mommy" of a desert tortoise and two rescued formerly-feral cats. I've been fortunate enough to meet two of my favorite hockey players, Jeremy Roenick & Tony Twist. I also have a family member who is an organ recipient and I once donated 17" of hair to "Locks of Love."
