SoCal Road Enthusiasts - Second Meeting
Part 2: Ventura to Summerland
From the Ventura Amtrak station (which had a trainspotter come by and jot down the number on the locomotive that pulled in while we were there) we headed north up Ventura Ave (old US 399), then Santa Ana Road (also old 399?) in Casitas Springs, where we stopped to check out the old bridge over the Ventura River.

Date stamp on the bridge.

We then joined up with CA33 in Oak View, where we stopped for some coffee at Java 33. We proceeded north on CA33 and 150 into Ojai to stop at an ATM, where we departed from Robert, who had another engagement to attend in the area.

We took CA33 back to westbound CA150, passing by Lake Casitas. This road still has a lot of the old style white single curve (vs the current "w" style) guardrail.

Just past the CA150/CA192 junction we stopped to look at the old one lane (6.5 feet wide) 1927 Rincon Creek bridge that is still in use on CA150 and noted an unusual "D" postmile sign. A half mile down the road there is another bridge just like this one.

An unusual "D" postmile sign at the bridge. This signifies that the mileage is indeterminate because the county line is the river,
and the river shifts position

From there we continued on 150 west to northbound 101 and stopped in Summerland at the Big Yellow House restaurant for lunch.
