Arrival |

zonked in the plane on the way to Maui.

Hooray! I am no longer cooped up in an airplane!!!

Wow! We don't get this view in Phoenix.
1st Day - Whale Watching |

We went whale watching on our 1st full day and saw a mother and her baby.

I had fun watching the whales with Mommy.

Here's a baby humpback surfacing. They were really close to the boat!

The coastal scenery was beautiful from the boat.

Uncle Dan, Aunt Shannon, and cousin Laurel had a good time on the boat, too

Baby Laurel was in a great mood.

After brunch in Lahaina. I don't know what Aunt Shannon's story was about, but it must have been a doosy.

Daddy holds Laurel at brunch.

Panoramic view of the Lahaina Coast
2nd Day - Haleakala |

I got to play with Laurel this morning.

This rare silversword plant was about the only thing Daddy got to see on Haleakala Volcano since it was all cloudy and rainy.

Grandma B and me snooze at the top of Haleakala in the rain. Notice what page my Dr. Seuss book is open to?

3rd Day - Beach |

On the Kapalua beach.

Yeah, I can understand why the fish appear about 25% bigger when you look through these gizmos.

I love Daddy.

I like my cousin Laurel.

I love, Mommy, too.

And I love Uncle Dan.

Hey, these are nice flowers at Whalers Village.

This is baby Laurel after her bath. I hope I looked as cute when I was that young.

Uncle Dan, whatchya doing?

Hey, there's Laurel's butt!

I think Laurel likes me. I like her.
4th Day - Road to Hana |

Grandma B and Papa Ken at the Garden of Eden on the road to Hana. Jessica had a fever this day, so all she did was sleep in the car.

One of the many beautiful flowers in Maui.

This is a crested cardinal taken at the halfway point to Hana.

Grandma B by the ocean.

One of the many beautiful waterfalls on the road to Hana.

Sunset outside our Kahana Sands condo window.

Dan, Shannon, and Laurel went to Iao Needle when we went to Hana. Laurel wasn't in the mood to make the trip, and neither was Shannon. Or Dan.
5th Day - Free Day |

Look, Grandma. Here's my tummy.

I'm playing with Laurel again today.

She's actually a very nice baby.

Mommy brought me to the Maui Ocean Center while Uncle Dan and Daddy went on a snorkel boat ride to Molokini. They said we probably had more fun.

The Maui Ocean Center has a tidepool which I thoroughly enjoyed.

These are called java sparrows, and they were right outside our condo window.

Uncle Dan and Aunt Shannon try their kayaking skills.

Mommy holds baby Laurel. She really likes holding little babies.

6th Day - Luau |

In Lahaina I watched 2 men carve some Hawaiian statues.

Ooh, these are pretty flowers.

The hibiscus grow very well here.

Family photo at the Hyatt.

Uncle Dan, Aunt Shannon, and cousin Laurel.

Family photo at the luau.

Grandma B with her two granddaughters.

I love Daddy.

BIG family photo!

I stayed awake all the way through the show just to see this guy. Daddy says I better not try this at home.

I had fun when Daddy played with a straw.
7th Day - Lanai Dolphin Trip, Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge |

I love Santa, even in Maui.

Don't you tickle me, Uncle Dan.

Jessica didn't have a very good time on the Lanai dolphin boat. But Mick enjoyed taking pictures of the spinner dolphins.

There were probably 50 of them leading our boat.

Spinner dolphins intermitantly leap out of the air and spin around.

Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge is where Mick took this picture of a night heron.

This is a rare Hawaiian stilt, but they're not that rare at the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge.
8th Day - NW Maui Coast |

A beautiful view of Maui's NW coast.

There's a blowhole on Maui's NW coast.

Lots of interesting rockpiles, called cairns, actually do a poor job marking the trail toward the blowhole.

Hey, I think only Dan is registered to drive the rental car!
