As another humid day in the valley of the sun goes by, Monsoon gets ready for another match. Today they play AZTEX United, the only undefeated team in the league. Three weeks from the day that Tyleroni's leg met its catastrophic break, he was back on the sidelines. This time, there to cheer on his team. We all hope he gets well soon and his leg gets back to form.

As everyone is warming up, it is nice to see that the whole team had made it to the game. The first half was a struggle as both teams had a tough time getting their respective teams going. The wall of humidity might have played a big factor since the weather had gone into the 90's and Heavens had brought quite a downpour the night before. The opposition had gotten on the board early with a couple of cherry pickers. Then Zacho out of nowhere brings the Monsoon within one with a move out of the chubby checker dance book. (the twist) Unfortunately, for monsoon the half would end at a 3-1 tie.

The second half began and again Zacho came out with his bad self and scored another goal. The past two games he has really come into his own, with a world record of our team of 5 goals in two games. Jamie was back from a 2 week hiatus, and she ready to play with finesse and pizzazz. As monsoon tried to penetrate the opposition from the rear, as it was obvious that there were too many men( or women) in the front box as it was. Durazo was of no contribution tonight, it must be that those steroids must be wearing off. or maybe just maybe he has been taking the high road and spending his time on the drink?( remember Kupkodinho) only time will tell. Well the game came to a disappointing end with a 6-2 loss to the feet of the opposition.

It was hot and humid this sunny July day. As game time approached only a few players had trickled in. Shaylynnotti and Xacho( read meet the team) were warming up and Kupkodinho was on the phone with his agent to see if any better offers were made on his contract. Calls were received before this weeks game stating the a handful of needed players were not going to be attending. So for the second straight week they had to look for support from the reserve squad. This time they brought up Bobbi Jo who had been nursing a sore knee but was able to overcome her personal anguish for the sake of the team.

After getting off to a late start, they started off with a 6 against 7 player team but we still had extra player on the sideline getting ready. Within the first 5 minutes it was a stalemate. Then, dum dum da dum... yes the scoring began.. Started off by Xacho placing a one touch footer into the back corner of the net. This sparked the passion that was brewing in the loins of the team. Few minutes passed and the opposition was stacking the line and the ball was bouncing off everyone when Durazo got a lucky shot to off his foot and into the goal. As the game was proceeding there was a hard foul of frustration and Kupkodinho took the penalty which went in with or without being touched( we will never know). with the 3to 0 there were moments left in the half and again Durazo gets a bounce in the middle of traffic and gets another to go into the net. They go into the half with a lead of 4-0,,, or so they think.. The referee comes back and stated the Kupkodiho's goal would not count and would be taken off the scorecard due to no one touching the ball before it went in the goal from the free kick. That would just burn him up inside.

The second half began and Xacho came out with a ding dong a blarin' and his foot on fire, not soon after the whistle blew he had the ball in the goal. With magnificent passes from Kristov and Natasha the "scoring machines" continued with a nicely placed dinger from Kupkodinho to avenge the goal that was taken away in the first half. Chadinski was also all over the field trying to create opportunities and get a chance to score one for himself. Halfway through the second half Xacho got his opportunity for the rare Hat Trick and with a breakaway, he got his coveted goal. After this the opposition got their first goal and with Natasha taking the kickoff, she placed a ball right over the defenders head and Durazo heads it over to Shaylynnotti where she puts a goal in for the first time this season. "Durazo gave Shaylynnotti great head" said one of the fans as they walk off the hill. Final 7-1

Well the unfortunate events of this past week have taken its toll on Club Monsoon. At first, Tyleroni's leg injury seemed minor but little did we know that the previous pins in the leg were made of bamboo and would snap like a twig. This injury will put Tyleroni out for a few months. Sad Sad day in Tempe Soccer life.

This brings us back to today's events... AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!! First, some of the main players needed in today's match were unable to attend. Shaylynnotti, Jaime, and Heather were not available for comments. The main highlight is that due to injury to Tyleroni the team had to bring Kristov up from the reserve team. Fortunately, he did not disappoint as he scored the first goal for Monsoon. We also had John come back from his overseas training to help out with our rotation. With disappointments from the the missing crew, the team was not playing with all the gusto that can be expected by playing 5 against 7. Natasha, even though she was late, redeemed herself by scoring the second goal for the team. This loss was a very tough loss for the players and fans alike.

After the game, it was reported that Shaylynnotti was at the Olive garden on a date with a man.. yea a man!! Now we know that she let down her comrades for a piece of man. We hope she .... had ..the time.. of her life.. ( said in words ala Dirty dancing movie). We will try to get an interview next time.. That's all for now.. see you next week!!

With the talks of performance enhancing drugs and gambling from the week before Durazo came out to prove his critics wrong.

The first half kicked off and finally being able to come to terms with Kupkodinho we were able to get him back into the lineup. Jamie, Tyleroni, Tobin, Leah, Chadinski, Shaylynnotti and Dan were the starters for today. Playing against Fury FC, both teams were unbeaten heading into the match. Monsoon had the ball and with precise passing from Jamie and Tobin they get the ball the Chadinski and he puts the ball in the back of the net to put his team up by one. Twenty minutes in with the score still at 1 and with control of the game a short pass from Natasha to Durazo and they are able to get another ball into the goal to make the score 2 before halftime. Kupkodinho also also shows he was worth the holdout by controlling the middle of the field and flawless passes.

The second half starts and a few minutes in Dan manages to get passed the defenders to score a much needed goal. as time went by there were many good shots by Jamie and Shaylynnotti and a few by Tobin and Tyleroni but the ball did not seem to want to go to its home. na na na na na na( a la caddyshack rhythm) ... In the final minutes the impossible struck when one of opposition, after watching too much world cup, believed he was on Zidane and fly kicked Tyleroni on the same leg which had previously been broken in similar fashion. Fury had no respect for the fallen player and kept playing the ball, Durazo had to kick it out to put the ball out of play. The ref decided to stop the match at that point with no light and Fury becoming more and more anxious to score. Final was 4-2, we are all concerned and hope Tyleroni's injury is not serious.

URGENT UPDATE: It is confirmed we will be without Tyleroni due to a broken leg... Again!!

First game of the inaugural summer season and Monsoon came out with all cylinder's blaring. With some new additions of Chadinski and Kupkodinho, and the already proven Scott trio, Leah, Dan, and Natasha this was going to be a team of the millennium. Before game time Kupkodinho called in from Belize saying he was holding out for the better contract and stated that we had to allow for his "herbal" meditations in his new contract.

So he says he was holding out for that better contract but with this picture, suspicions of alcoholism, debauchery, and alcoholism seemed to have played a big part in missing the opening game.

First half kicked off and Durazo was nowhere to be found, probably out placing bets on soccer, while the rest of the team had to step it up, they knew they were up for the task. The great Shaylynnotti was feeding the ball well, we were just having trouble capitalizing. By the end of the first half Chadinski, Dan and Natasha put a few in the back of the net.

The second half started and still no Durazo, the team did no need him since they were playing sensational without him. Out of nowhere he appears and just in time as the opposition was starting to catch up. Durazo subs in and immediately scores an over the head around the back header that was of somewhat magical proportions. This also sparked Dan to score another goal. A few seconds went by and Durazo scored another goal that went by two defenders. and as time was coming to a close with the awesome assist from Shaylynnotti, Durazo scored his third for the hat trick! Final score 7-4 in favor of Monsoon.

After the game, talk about Durazo and steroids started being whispered, with a performance like that who can blame them.. Stay tuned!!
