The Cobra Roll has a catchy name and sounds tough, doesn't it. Well, it is about a nothing pattern maneuver as you have ever seen. It does have a few possibilities in the rolling portions, however. |

· FULL POWER · PARALLEL TO RUNWAY · ONE MISTAKE HIGH |

|
The Original Cobra Roll |
||
|
1. Smoothly raise the nose until you are in a 45 degree nose high climb and release the elevator. |
||
|
2. Roll over to inverted, maintaining the 45 degree climb. |
||
|
3. Smoothly put in up elevator until you are in a 45 degree dive and release the elevator. |
||
|
4. Roll upright. |
||
|
5. Smoothly put in up elevator to return to level flight. That's it! |

Cobra Roll Point Roll Variation |
||
|
Instead of a smooth roll on the up line and down line, some patterns call for 2 points of a 4-point roll. |
||
|
1. Smoothly raise the nose until you are in a 45 degree nose high climb and release the elevator. |
||
|
2. Do 2 points of the 4-point roll, stopping at the inverted position. |
||
|
3. Smoothly put in up elevator until you are in a 45 degree dive and release the elevator. |
||
|
4. Do the last 2 points of the 4-point roll, stopping upright. |
||
|
5. Smoothly put in up elevator to return to level flight. That's it! |
