COBRA ROLL

TEACH YOURSELF

MANEUVER CARD

The Cobra Roll has a catchy name and sounds tough, doesn't it. Well, it is about a nothing pattern maneuver as you have ever seen. It does have a few possibilities in the rolling portions, however.

STANDARD SETUP

· FULL POWER

· PARALLEL TO RUNWAY

· ONE MISTAKE HIGH

The Original Cobra Roll

1. Smoothly raise the nose until you are in a 45 degree nose high climb and release the elevator.

2. Roll over to inverted, maintaining the 45 degree climb.

3. Smoothly put in up elevator until you are in a 45 degree dive and release the elevator.

4. Roll upright.

5. Smoothly put in up elevator to return to level flight. That's it!

Cobra Roll Point Roll Variation

Instead of a smooth roll on the up line and down line, some patterns call for 2 points of a 4-point roll.

1. Smoothly raise the nose until you are in a 45 degree nose high climb and release the elevator.

2. Do 2 points of the 4-point roll, stopping at the inverted position.

3. Smoothly put in up elevator until you are in a 45 degree dive and release the elevator.

4. Do the last 2 points of the 4-point roll, stopping upright.

5. Smoothly put in up elevator to return to level flight. That's it!
