STANDARD SETUP

1.
FULL POWER
2.
PARALLEL TO RUNWAY
3.
ONE MISTAKE HIGH |
SINGLE LOOP
0.
STANDARD SETUP. Begin heading INTO the wind.
1.
FULL UP ELEVATOR. Use full up for your first try.
2.
Release elevator when plane returns to level flight.
·If
plane falls out of top of loop, try more elevator or more power.
·If
plane drops a wing or rolls out of the loop, you are probably stalling,
and need to use less up elevator.
·If
plane loops easily, release a small amount of up control as plane approaches
inverted, and add it back in as you go down the back side.
·"Play"
elevator to try to finish at the same altitude as the start.

MULTIPLE LOOPS

CONTROL
RATES: Low rate elevator, exponential or low rate ailerons

0.
STANDARD SETUP: INTO WIND.
1.
Do medium sized loops. Loops too large or too tight will be harder to duplicate.
2.
Note height above horizon or trees at start. Note altitude when inverted.
3.
Ease off up elevator when approaching the inverted position.
4.
Add up elevator back as you approach upright level flight.
5.
Bottom of loops: Play elevator for same altitude as start.
6.
Top of loops: Play elevator for same inverted altitude as 1st loop.
·Have
a helper note your position on successive loops. He may see it better than
you can.

OUTSIDE LOOP

CONTROL
RATES: Low rate elevator, exponential or low rate ailerons

STANDARD SETUP: Heading INTO WIND.
TWO
MISTAKES HIGH
A.
For 1st tries: Reduce to HALF POWER & use FULL DOWN ELEVATOR. As you
get to know your plane's response, reduce down elevator to appropriate
amount.
B.
For good outside loops starting at full power:
1.
Reduce power to idle.
2.
Use appropriate down elevator as you determined on your 1st tries.
3.
Add full power as you approach the bottom.
4.
Release down elevator at top of loop.
C.
For multiple outside loops:
1.
Do not reduce power after 1st loop as plane is slow from climb.
2.
Play down elevator for same top and bottom positions.
REVERSE OUTSIDE LOOP

STANDARD SETUP: Do INTO WIND.
1.
Roll inverted. A slower roll looks better.
2.
Pause 1 full second. Common error is not flying inverted long enough.
3.
Push down elevator to do outside loop. Go easy to start with.
4.
At end of loops, hold a little down to keep from descending
5.
Pause 1 full second, then roll upright.
