I was on the bus sitting next to this girl. She is very nice but not very many people talk to her because she has a disability. I had always thought that she couldn't talk and she could only mumble. I was sitting there kinda bored and she turned to me and syllable by syllable she said "how-do-you-like-school". I answered back slowly (wondering how slow I needed to talk for her to understand) "I like it what about you".She told me that she could understand me fine and I didn't need to talk so slow. From there we talked about school and school lunches. As she was getting off the bus and she turned to me again and said thank-you-for-talk-ing-to-me-i-have-on-ly-ev-er-talk-ed-to-my-mom. This shocked me, I knew a lot of people didn't talk to her but NEVER. I felt so bad for her. Then I realized she didn't need me to pity her, she was just fine, all she needed was a friend. I know I know I sound just like one of those happy ending fairy tales but that's really how it happened.
