PASSOVER & UNLEAVENED
BREAD OBSERVED
Pictures are at the bottom.
Elder Jerry Healan traveled to the Coffield Unit at Tennessee Colony, Texas on Sabbath Apr. 3rd to visit with our brethren in prison at that facility. The topic addressed was the Passover Examination. We were able to provide the brethren there with matzos for the ensuing days of unleavened bread. We try to furnish as many facilities as we can with matzos for these days, but the demand is great and the availability of the matzos is scarce in these parts of East Texas.
There is only one food chain that handles the matzos in our neck of the woods, so to speak, and a visit to all three stores scrounged up only 14 boxes of matzos at a very handsome price, we might also add.
There are men at almost all of the facilities in Texas, Arkansas, etc. with whom we are in contact who are requesting that we provide matzos, grape juice, etc. However, many of the facilities will not permit us to provide the requested items. We also are limited in funds and availability of the items in this area, but we try to do the best we can with what we have.
YAHWEH’S
Evangelical Assembly observed YAHshua’s Passover Memorial on Sunday night Apr. 4th. We had several in attendance for the ceremony. It was a solemn occasion as we took the time to remember the Sovereign’s death till He comes. The bread and the cup, as always, was so meaningful. We were blessed to have Elder Willie Beard come from Memphis, Tennessee to partake of the Passover emblems with us.The first day of Unleavened Bread was observed here in Atlanta, Texas. We were able to make arrangements to rent the Bett’s Hall to hold the meeting. We had brethren from Emory, Stuttgart, Arkansas and elsewhere come to observe the first day with us.
Three messages were given. Brother Jack Ray spoke on Doing YAHshua’s works. Elder Willie Beard spoke on Humility and Elder Jerry Healan spoke on Melchizedek’s Passover. We recorded these messages and they are available for those who desire to view them. Simply write or call us and request tape #4T0405.
On Wednesday, Apr. 7th, the Healans traveled to Cisco, Texas in order to fellowship with the brethren gathered there. It was late in the afternoon when they arrived, but the Cisco youth were putting on a youth meal in order to provide funds for youth activities. The Healan’s daughter Rachel arrived just in time to give a hand in the activities. The theme of the meal was Hawaiian. The youth did a great job with the decorations, the food and performing the service in an act of love. Later in the evening a Bible study was held with various topics discussed.
The Cisco assembly held services every day at 10:00 a.m. with various speakers. Excellent messages were given, but those messages were not able to be recorded due to a malfunction in their equipment. Several of those messages would have been excellent to offer on a video program or even converted into articles, but alas, none are available.
The youth had a bowling activity on Thursday, Apr. 8th. In Brownwood, Texas. Later in the evening there was a hayride and various other activities. On Friday the usual services were held at 10:00 a.m. A toy bonanza was scheduled later in the afternoon and in the evening the youth presented a delightful program (with various adults also taking part in it). The play presented was entitled "The Red Tie Club."
The theme of the play was that no one could enter into the club without a red tie given by the owner/master of the club. Rachel York played the part of a man who attempted to enter the club without the specified red tie. When denied, she threatened to utilize her power, influence and wealth in order to enter the club. This didn’t work. She was enraged, but determined to enter without abiding by the rules. She found a discarded red cloth in a garbage can and tried to utilize that in order to enter, but the vigilant doorkeeper refused entrance. No matter how hard she tried, she wasn’t allowed to enter unless the rules of having the red tie were followed. The moral of the story is that without YAHshua and His Spirit, none are allowed to enter into the kingdom of heaven. It was an excellent presentation with a proper lesson taught. There were other skits, songs, music, etc. presented by youth and adults alike. We have posted some of the pictures in this newsletter which were taken at several of the events.
Sabbath and Sunday were both rest days with worship services at 10:00 a.m., communal meals, Bible classes for the teens and kids, and a general Bible study at 8:00 p.m. on the evening falling between Sabbath and the last day of Unleavened Bread.
Brethren were present from various assemblies. The fellowship and food (both physical and spiritual) were excellent. YAHWEH also blessed the area with the usual bouquets of wild flowers. The Texas State flower is the bluebonnet and they were very prolific along with the Indian Paintbrushes and other varieties. The beauty of the flowers and the brethren was indescribable.
We praise YAHWEH for blessing us all with such tremendous fellowship that we all had during the Passover and days of Unleavened Bread this year. HalleluYAH!!!
