Does the name YAHWEH reveal YAHshua to us? There are those who claim that YAHshua was in no way Elohim, much less YAHWEH. But can we study into the name YAHWEH and determine that YAHshua was truly the One who has dealt with mankind from Adam until these very days today? We intend to proffer the truth of this and hope that you are able to receive this treatise.

SHADOWS
The world of yesteryear, the world that we are living in today and the very life that we are living are nothing more than shadows. If light is cast upon an object and a background is provided, what we see on the background is a shadow of the object that the light is shining upon.
Shadows present an outline, sometimes a very crude outline, but as we know, the shadow doesn’t portray the very image and likeness. We may be able to distinguish what the object is that is casting the shadow and then again, the image that is cast forth can also be very deceptive. Have you ever seen a person make images of various animals, dogs, cats, fish, etc. with their hands? In these cases, the images are deceptive, because the light is being cast upon hands, but the hands can’t be detected because they have been made to appear as if they are something entirely different.
When the sun shines upon a building, tree, man, woman, animal, etc., they cast a shadow upon the ground. We can recognize who or what is casting the shadowy image by following the shadow to its source. However, if we only saw the shadow itself, we wouldn’t generally be able to completely recognize the item making the shadow unless we knew who or what was casting that shadow. In other words, the shadow is such a poor image that we can only receive a very vague idea what or who is casting that shadow.
Such is exactly what is said of the Law or Torah, "For the law (Torah) having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually, make the comers thereunto perfect," Heb. 10:1.
Again, we read, "Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an High Priest, Who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which YAHWEH pitched, and not man. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this Man have somewhat also to offer. For if He were on earth, He should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law (Torah); Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of YAHWEH when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, ‘See,’ saith He, ‘that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount’," Heb. 8:1-5.
Then in chapter 9 we read, "Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; and over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of YAHWEH. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the errors of the people: The Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the Holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while the first tabernacle was yet standing: Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation," Heb. 9:1-10.
The word "figure" in the above verses is translated from the Greek word "parabole" which is elsewhere translated as "parable."
YAHshua
came speaking in parables in order to hide the true meanings of what He was saying rather than present them clearly. For proof of this read Mt. 13:10-17.HIDDEN THINGS
We can conclude that since the Torah was only a shadow, we can look at it and identify so many marvelous outlines, but we simply can’t fill in all of the details.
The same thing goes for the Levitical priesthood. The Levitical priesthood was only a shadow of the Priesthood of YAHshua the Messiah, the true heavenly priesthood after the order of Melchizedek.
Also, we can study into the tabernacle with its appurtenances, sacrifices, priesthood, etc. but they were only shadowy outlines of those things which are heavenly.
We read in the book of Proverbs, "It is the glory of Elohim to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter," 25:2.
The interesting thing about this verse is that the words "thing" and "matter" are both translated from the same Hebrew word "dabar." Dabar is usually translated throughout the Scriptures as "Word." Therefore we can make this verse to read, "It is the glory of Elohim to conceal (His) word: but the honour of kings is to search out (His) word."
Furthermore, the words "glory" and "honour" are both translated from the same Hebrew word which is "kabowd" and can be translated as either glory or honour. Again, we could read this verse as, "It is the glory of Elohim to conceal (His) Word: but the glory of kings is to search out (His) Word."
Yes, we must search the Scriptures concerning the meanings of the shadows, the types, the examples, the parables (or figures), the proverbs, etc.
THE HEBREW ALPHABET
While we know that the original Scriptures given to Moses, the prophets and psalmists were in the Hebrew language, it is also our belief that YAHWEH originally inspired the overall preponderance of the New Testament (Covenant) Scriptures to be written in Hebrew.
The Hebrew language and alphabet also has hidden or mystical meanings that must be searched out. When we begin to search out those meanings, we can find out some marvelous truths that we may have suspected, but can confirm with a little "searching out."
The Hebrew alphabet itself, is a marvelous thing. The letters of the Hebrew alphabet not only stand for letters to be utilized in language for the purpose of communication, written or otherwise, but they also are utilized as a numbering system. This is somewhat foreign to the English world and language which has a separate alphabet and numbering system.
The Hebrew numbering system is important to utilize for Biblical formulas. Just as there are mathematical and scientific formulas in our physical world, there are also numerical, mathematical and scientific formulas that can be applied to the Hebrew Scriptures. (See Number In Scripture by E. W. Bullinger)
Another marvelous truth concerning the Hebrew alphabet is that each of the individual letters are actually pictures or hieroglyphics. For example: the very first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is the "aleph" (a) which represents the head of an ox. The very last letter of the Hebrew alphabet is the "tau/tav" (t) which represents a mark, sign or name. This most important letter not only carries this distinction in the Hebrew language, but the English as well, for we all know that in times past when an illiterate person would sign a document, since he was unable to write his name, he would place an "X" to signify his signature.
To corroborate the above statements I quote Rabbi Yitzchak Gingsburg from his book entitled The Alef-Beit, "Each letter (of the Hebrew alphabet) possesses three different representations: form (picture), name, and number. (p. 10)
Rabbi Michael Munk writes, "To the Jew, the Hebrew alphabet is part of every day, in prayer, in Torah study, or other areas of Jewish activity. Our first introduction to education is through the Aleph-Beis, because it is the foundation of knowledge. But, unfortunately, once the foundation is built, the importance of the Aleph-Beis seems to cease. Having mastered words, verses, concepts and research, we seldom look back to the letters that meant so much when we were little children learning them laboriously, one at a time.
"But the Aleph-Beis has much to teach even the most accomplished scholar." (The Wisdom of the Hebrew Alphabet, Preface, p. 12)
Yes, how true, the Hebrew alphabet does have much to teach us concerning many, many things.
LOOKING AT THE LETTERS IN hwhy
YOD/YUD (y):
Let’s take a look at the Hebrew letters which compose YAHWEH’S name to see what we can learn from them.
Rabbi Michael L. Munk writes, "The tenth letter in the Aleph-Beis is y, a letter that is barely larger than a dot that cannot be divided into component parts. It alludes to HASHEM (YAHWEH) Who is One and Indivisible, for although His attributes seem to be numerous and even contradictory, they all flow from a unified purpose and existence (Maharal).
"The prophet Isaiah declared: ~ymil'A[ rWc hw"hy> Hy"B. yKi, For with [His Name] YAH, HASHEM is the Rock of the Universe (Isa. 26:4). In a homiletical interpretation of this verse, the Sages derive the word rwc from rcy, to form. Accordingly, the Talmud explains that God created the universe with the letters y and h which form the Divine Name hy, YAH. With the letter y He created the World to come, while with the h He created This World (Menachos 29b). Thus the y is used several times in the Torah as a reference to life in the World to Come," The Wisdom In The Hebrew Alphabet, p. 125.
The literal rendering of this verse (Isa. 26:4) would be, "...for in YAH YAHWEH is (a) Rock of ages."
While Rabbi Munk says that the Yod represents the world to come, he is also implying that the Yod represents YAHWEH as the Rock. Let’s search the Scriptures concerning this idea.
Dt. 32:1, "Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and
hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
2. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, My speech shall distil
as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, as the showers upon the
grass:
3. because I will publish the name of YAHWEH:
ascribe ye greatness unto our Elohim,
4. the Rock (Heb. = rwc
[tsur, #6697 in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance]), His work is perfect:
for all His ways are judgment: a El of truth and without iniquity, just and
right is He."
Dt. 32:18, "Of the ROCK that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten El That formed thee…
30. How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand
to flight, except their ROCK had sold them,
and YAHWEH had shut them up?
31. For their rock is not as our ROCK,
even our enemies themselves being judges." See also 1 Sam. 2:2; 2 Sam.
22:2, 3, 32; 2 Sam. 23:3; Psa. 18:2, 31; 61:2-4; 92:15, etc.
The Yod (y) also stands for a hand, "dwy is related to the word dy, which has the common meaning of hand…," The Inner Meaning of the Hebrew Letters by Robert M. Haralick, p. 141.
"The word yud (dwy) means ‘a hand’ or ‘to thrust’." The Aleph-Beit by Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburgh, p. 159.
What does YAHWEH’S word say about His hand?
"Thy right hand, O YAHWEH, is become glorious in power: Thy right hand, O YAHWEH, hath dashed in pieces the enemy...Thou stretchedst out Thy right hand, the earth swallowed them," Dt. 15:6, 12.
Hearken unto Me, O Jacob and Israel, My called; I am He; I am the first, I also am the last. Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and My right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together," Isa. 48:12-13.
"Shew Thy marvellous lovingkindness, O Thou That savest by Thy right hand them which put their trust in Thee from those that rise up against them," Psa. 17:7.
"Now I know that YAHWEH saveth His Anointed (David); He will hear from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of YAHWEH our Elohim," Psa. 20:6-7.
"YAH is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: The right hand of YAHWEH doeth valiantly. The right hand of YAHWEH is exalted: the right hand of YAHWEH doeth valiantly," Psa. 118:14-16.
The Yod is the tenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet and represents the number 10.
Thus we find that the letter Yod (y) is representative of YAHWEH as the Rock, its name represents a hand (especially the right hand) and its number is 10.
HEI (h):
"The fifth letter of the Hebrew alphabet is Hey, h, which can be spelled either as ah or yh. As a prefix h functions as the definite article ‘the.’ As a suffix, h is the indicator for the feminine gender of a noun. As a word, ah means lo, or behold, or here is. Joseph uses the word ah in speaking to the Egyptian people, giving them seed to sow their next crop and declaring that one fifth of what they harvest must be returned to Pharaoh." The Inner Meaning of the Hebrew Letters, p. 71.
"The word hei (ah, also written yh or hh) means ‘to be broken’; ‘to take seed’; ‘behold’ - ‘revelation.’ The Alef-Beit, p. 86.
"Hei, short for the word hnh, ‘behold,’ expresses Divine revelation, as in the verse wl wnywq hz wnyqla hnh, ‘Behold this is our G-d that we have been waiting for.’ This verse refers to the ultimate revelation of G-d upon the arrival of the Mashiach. Ibid, p. 88.
"The most important word in which h participates is the Tetragrammaton h-w-h-y.
There is an upper h and a lower h.
The first h is the upper power of being. The second h is the lower power of being. Each is united by the connection of the w to permit the flow of the Divine spirituality of the y. The first h corresponds to the giving hand. The second h corresponds to the receiving hand.
The letter h is also related to the word water in the following verse: Let there be a firmament in the midst of the water that it may separate water from water.¹" The Inner Meaning of the Hebrew Letters, pp. 80-81.
"The sound of h is a mere exhalation of breath, hei; it requires little effort, no movement of lip, tongue, or mouth (Tanchuma Bereishis 16). This effortless enunciation symbolizes the effortless creation of the world—as the Psalmist testifies: x;Wrb.W Wf[]n: ~yIm;v' hw"hy> rb;d>B `~a'b'c.-lK' wyPi, By the word of HASHEM the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their hosts (Psalms 33:6)." The Wisdom of the Hebrew Alphabet, p. 85.
The barely heard h alludes to God, Who manifests Himself in quiet tranquility. When God appeared to Eliyahu a strong wind rent the mountains and shattered the rocks. Afterwards there was an earthquake and then a fire; but the Lord was present in none of those violent phenomena. Then, `hQ'd; hm'm'D> lAq vaeh' rx;a;w>, after the fire was a soundless whisper, and in it appeared God (1 Kings 19:12). God requires no crescendos; no outward phenomenon can compare to the very fact of His existence." Ibid, p. 88.
Thus we find that the letter hei (h) means the article "the", lo, behold, here is, to be broken, to take (seed), revelation, power of being, breath, and is related to water. As a suffix, it can represent femininity.
It is the number 5 in the Hebrew numbering system.
WAW/VAV (w):
"The sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabet is Vav w, spelled most commonly as ww", but also spelled as waw" and wyw". The letter w is shaped like a nail, and the word ww" is the word for hook, peg, or nail. It can be used as the conjunctive prefix and. It is also a conversive prefix that can time switch or time shift, changing a verb form that is in the past into one that is in the future and, as well a future into a past. Thereby it can be thought of as that letter energy intelligence that makes a connection in order to establish a time-transcending eternal unification and completion." The Inner Meaning of the Hebrew Letters, p. 87.
"The sixth letter of the Aleph-Beis has a gematria of six, a number that denotes physical completion: The physical world was completed in six days and a complete self-contained object consists of six dimensions: above and below, right and left, before and behind (Maharal)….The letter vav is the prefix of conjunction [rwbyth w]; it unites manifold, even opposing, concepts. It is the link connecting heaven and earth (see p. a-00). Its form is that of a hook, as indeed its name ww" means hook. The vav links words and phrases to form sentences; it joins sentences into paragraphs and chapters; it connects one chapter to another; and even unites books. The vav implies close relationship between events and continuity between generations. The absence of a w at the beginning of a new chapter in the Torah indicates the beginning of a new era or subject." The Wisdom in the Hebrew Alphabet, pp. 94-95.
"The vav, a single erect line, symbolizes the upright stature of man standing on earth with head reaching towards the heavens...The vav, at the level of Divinity, represents the middle pillar—the ‘pillar of truth’ - which pierces through the middle point of all reality. Truth is defined as the constant middle, which expresses itself as the power to support two apparent opposites simultaneously." The Alef-Beit, pp. 98-99.
From all this we learn that the vav/waw represents a nail, peg or hook. It pictures a man standing with his head reaching toward heaven. It also represents the "pillar of truth." It serves as a conjunction and numerically represents 6.
THE PARABLE OF THE ROCK
With this information on hand, we can now explore some Scriptures.
Ex. 17:1, "And all the congregation of the children of
Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to
the commandment of YAHWEH, and pitched in
Rephidim: and there was no water for the People to drink. 2. Wherefore the People did chide with Moses, and said, ‘Give
us water that we may drink.’ And Moses said unto them, ‘Why chide ye with
Me? Wherefore do ye tempt YAHWEH?’
3. And the People thirsted there for water; and the People
murmured against Moses, and said, ‘Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us
up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?’
4. And Moses cried unto YAHWEH,
saying, ‘What shall I do unto this People? They be almost ready to stone me.’
5. And YAHWEH said unto
Moses, ‘Go on before the People, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and
thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the River, take in thine hand, and go.
6. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in
Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it,
that the People may drink.’ And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of
Israel.
7. And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah,
because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted YAHWEH,
saying, ‘Is YAHWEH among us or not?’"
If we go to the book of Psalm chapter 78, we will find that Ex. 17:1-7 is a parable, a dark saying of old.
Psa. 78:1, "Give ear, O my People, to my law: incline
your ears to the words of my mouth.
2. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark
sayings of old:…
15. He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them
drink as out of the great depths.
16. He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused
waters to run down like rivers.
17. And they sinned yet more against Him by provoking the
Most High in the wilderness.
18. And they tempted El in their heart by asking meat for
their lust.
19. Yea, they spake against Elohim;
They said, ‘Can El furnish a table in the wilderness?
20. Behold, He smote the rock, that the waters gushed out,
and the streams overflowed; can He give bread also? Can He provide flesh for His
people?"
Ex. 17:1-7 is a parable that must be searched out in order to understand what is going on here. The word for rock is tsur which is defined as: from 6696; properly, a cliff (or sharp rock, as compressed); generally, a rock or boulder; figuratively, a refuge; also an edge (as precipitous) and is variously translated as: edge, X (mighty) God (one), rock, X sharp, stone, X strength, X strong.
Notice that YAHWEH was standing on the rock when Moses struck it. We have already explored the concept of YAHWEH as a Rock.
THE FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATERS
YAHWEH
, the Mighty Elohim of the heavens is the Fountain of Living Waters. The Prophet Jeremiah writes, Jer. 2:11, "Hath a nation changed their elohim, which are yet no elohim? But My people have changed my glory for that which doth not profit.Again, he is inspired to declare, Jer. 17:13, "O YAHWEH, the Hope of Israel, all that forsake Thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from Me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken YAHWEH, the Fountain of Living Waters."
The Apostle Paul witnesses, "Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat (what was the spiritual meat that they ate? The Manna.); and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them (they were on the same road with): and that Rock was the Messiah," 1 Cor. 10:1-4.
Who was the Spiritual Rock? What Rock did they drink of? Wasn’t it the rock that was smitten in the wilderness? Wasn’t it YAHWEH, the Rock, Who was standing upon it? The parable was that YAHWEH, Himself, was going to be smitten in order to provide water for His people for YAHWEH is the Fountain of Living Waters.
YAHshua
proclaimed, "In the last day, that great day of the feast, YAHshua stood and cried, saying, Jn. 7:37, ‘If any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink. 38. He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of His belly shall flow rivers of living water.’Water is a type of the Holy Spirit, a parable of it, if you will. The rock that was struck in the wilderness was a parable, a prophecy of the time when the true Rock, YAHshua, would be struck so that the people would be able to receive the water that really mattered and that water is the Holy Spirit!
YAHSHUA
SMITTENYAHWEH
said that His people had forsaken Him, the Fountain of Living Waters (Jer. 2:11-13, 17:13). YAHshua came to His own and His own received Him not (Jn. 1:11). History repeats itself, nothing changes, it seems.YAHshua
was rejected and crucified as John witnesses, Jn. 19:14, "And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, ‘Behold your king!’ 15. But they cried out, ‘Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him.’ Pilate saith unto them, ‘Shall I crucify your King?’ The chief priests answered, ‘We have no king but Caesar.’BEHOLD MY HANDS
After YAHshua was
resurrected He appeared to the disciples, Jn 20:19 "Then the same day at
evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the
disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came YAHshua
and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, ‘Peace be unto you.’ 20. And when He had so said, He shewed unto them His hands
and His side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Master.
21. Then said YAHshua to
them again, ‘Peace be unto you: as My Father
hath sent Me, even so send I you.’
22. And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and saith
unto them, ‘Receive ye the Holy Spirit (waters from heaven):
23. Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them;
and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.’
24. But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not
with them when YAHshua came.
25. The other disciples therefore said unto him, ‘We have
seen the Master.’ But he said unto them, ’Except I shall see in His hands
the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and
thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe.’
26. And after eight days again His disciples were within, and
Thomas with them: then came YAHshua, the
doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, ’Peace be unto you.’
27. Then saith He to Thomas, ’Reach hither thy hand, and
thrust it into My side: and be not faithless, but believing.’
28. And Thomas answered and said unto Him, ’My Sovereign
and My Elohim!"
29. YAHshua saith unto
him, ‘Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: blessed are they
that have not seen, and yet have believed," Jn. 20:19-29.
Did Thomas blaspheme when he declared, "My Sovereign and My Elohim? Absolutely not! In these Scriptures, we have read twice that YAHshua showed His hands to His disciples. This witnessed to Thomas that YAHshua was Elohim. How?
Let’s look at the name YAHWEH (hwhy) and apply the understanding of the Hebrew alphabet to His name to see if that precious name applies to YAHshua. y (hand) h (behold) w (nail) h (behold).
Thomas instantly recognized that YAHshua was YAHWEH because he was a Hebrew, knew the Hebrew alphabet and understood what that alphabet pictures in language, number and form.
YAHWEH
/YAHshua came to His own and, according to Scripture, the overall great preponderance of His own people were blinded, believed not and did not receive Him. The same situation applies to some in the Sacred Name in today’s world. Many are blinded, cannot believe this, and deny Who YAHshua was, is and will be.I don’t mean to offend anyone who believes in YAHWEH and YAHshua, and yet, don’t believe in the fullness of YAHshua. It is my purpose to reason with you concerning the truth of the Scriptures and help you to understand.
THE SACRIFICE
We all know that YAHshua was sacrificed on the day that the Passover was sacrificed. The Apostles witness that such was the case, especially John.
Paul also witnesses, "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be an new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even the Messiah our Passover is sacrificed for us," 1 Cor. 5:7.
The Passover was sacrificed of old so that the people could be released from Egypt in order to go into the wilderness and make a covenant with YAHWEH. But the people didn’t have the heart to keep YAHWEH’S covenant (Dt. 29:1-4).
Even while Moses was in the mount receiving the tables of the covenant and instruction from YAHWEH concerning His sanctuary (the tabernacle), the priesthood, etc., the people sinned and turned to worship the golden calf (Ex. 32).
After entering and conquering much of the land of Canaan under the hand of YAHshua Ben Nun, the people began a series of turning away from YAHWEH, getting into trouble, calling out for His deliverance, etc., during the period of the Judges. Then the era of the kings was ushered in and under the kingship of Solomon the people began to turn away from YAHWEH again. There were good kings and evil kings, but the time eventually came when YAHWEH had to cast the people out of the land because of their failure to keep His covenant.
Jeremiah proclaimed that YAHWEH would make a new covenant with the people (31:31-34). YAHWEH began that New Covenant promise and deliverance through the sacrifice of the True and greater Passover YAHshua the Messiah.
YAHWEH
had proclaimed, "Therefore, behold, the days come, saith YAHWEH, that it shall no more be said, ‘YAHWEH liveth, That brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’ But. ‘YAHWEH liveth that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither He had driven them:’ and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers. Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith YAHWEH, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks," Jer. 16:14-16.What did YAHshua tell His disciples? "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men," Mt. 4:19, Lk. 5:1-11.
It was YAHshua’s Passover sacrifice that truly began the work of fishing men out of this world for the purpose of being called to the kingdom of heaven.
It was proclaimed, "Psa. 50:1. The mighty Elohim,
even YAHWEH, hath spoken, and called the
earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. 2. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, Elohim
hath shined.
3. Our Elohim shall come,
and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very
tempestuous round about Him.
4. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth,
that He may judge His People.
5. Gather My saints together unto Me; those that have made a
covenant with Me by My sacrifice."
A very careful study of the Hebrew verses reveal that these verses should be rendered as I have presented them.
The Hebrew rendering of this verse is: `xb;z"-yle[] ytiyrIb. yter>Ko yd'ysix] yli-Wps.ai:
When we look at the individual Hebrew words utilized here we find something very interesting. The first Hebrew combination is: yli-Wps.ai which should be rendered as gather to Me. Notice the yod (y) at the end of this word (remember that the Hebrew reads from right to left.). When utilized as a suffix in this manner, it can have a couple of meanings. It can either denote plurality or it can denote the personal pronouns Me or My. In this case it has to do with the personal pronoun "me" or "my."
The next word is: yd'ysix. This word means saint or holy one and should be translated as it has been; "My saints."
The next word is: yter>K. It has to do with cutting or making. But notice that once again there is a yod (y) following the word which introduces the idea of "cutting with Me."
The next word is: ytiyrIb.. This would be translated as "My covenant."
The final word or words is: xb;z"-yle[. The word le[ means upon or by. The yod (y) added to it again has to do with Me or My. Thus, this should read "By My sacrifice."
Therefore, this verse should read thusly, "Gather to Me My Saints, those cutting with Me My covenant by My sacrifice."
It was YAHWEH’S Own sacrifice which makes the much better covenant promised in Jeremiah 31 and Hebrews 8. This is confirmed by the Prophet Zechariah who is inspired to record, "And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon Me Whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn," Zech. 12:10.
The Scriptures confirm that the One Who was sacrificed was YAHWEH
Himself! Even Paul records, "Phil. 2:5. Let this mind be in you, which was
also in the Messiah YAHshua:
6. Who, being in the form of Elohim,
thought it not robbery (a thing to be clung to) to be equal with Elohim:
7. But made Himself of no reputation (emptied Himself), and
took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8. And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself,
and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
We YAHwists had better quit haggling over Who YAHshua was and simply give Him the honor, glory and praise due Him and His name!
NUMBERS/MATHEMATICS
The gematria of the name YAHWEH is 26 (y = 10, h = 5, w = 6, h = 5. 10 + 5 + 6 + 5 = 26. However, if we take the name YAHWEH (hwhy) and convert it to a mathematical equation we obtain the following:
h
(5) w (+) h (5) = y (10)Remember that the w (vav) also serves as a conjunction and that is what the plus (+) sign is in mathematics. For instance, we are taught 5 and 5 are 10. "And" in this case is the conjunction in English just like the vav (w) is in Hebrew.
Thus, the name YAHWEH also represents the very covenant that He made with Israel and also makes with His present day saints.
That covenant consists of the basis of His law, the ten commandments. YAHWEH gave Israel His ten commandments (Ex. 20). Moses went up into the mount to receive the two tables of the covenant, "And YAHWEH said unto Moses, ‘Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.’ And he was there with YAHWEH forty days and forty nights; he did neither ear bread, nor drink water. And He wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments," Ex. 34:27-28.
Yod (y) = 10 and also means hand. We are made in the image of YAHWEH and we have two hands with 5 digits (fingers) on each hand. YAHWEH would also have two hands. There would have been 5 commandments on each table of stone.
The vav (w) also has to do with the number 6 which is the number of creation and man, especially the man of truth. Moses received the 10 (y) commandments from YAHWEH and carried the tables, one in each hand, thus symbolizing the man (w) of truth with a table (5) in his left hand (h =5) and the other table (5) in his right hand (h =5).
Moses delivered the tables to Israel written in stone, but YAHshua
is the real man of truth and has the power to circumcise the heart and to write
the tables of the covenant therein, Ezek. 36:22, "Therefore say unto the
house of Israel, ‘Thus saith the Sovereign
YAHWEH; ‘I do not this for your sakes, O
house of Israel, but for Mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among
the heathen, whither ye went.
23. And I will sanctify My great name, which was profaned
among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen
shall know that I am YAHWEH,’ saith the Sovereign
YAHWEH, when I shall be sanctified in you
before their eyes.
24. For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather
you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall
be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I
put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I
will give you an heart of flesh.
27. And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to
walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgements, and do them.
28. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your
fathers; and ye shall be My People, and I will be your Elohim.
29. I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I
will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you."
Compare these verses in Ezekiel with Jer. 31:31-34 and Heb. 8:8-13.
This has to do with YAHWEH personally making a new covenant by writing His law of that covenant, the ten commandments, upon the hearts of Israel through His Spirit. Of course, the judgments, statutes and ordinances will also be a part of this process, but the basis from which it all stems is the 10 commandments.
BLOOD/ATONEMENT
YAHshua
the Rock was struck and blood and water came from His side. The blood is for the atonement for our sins for without the shedding of blood is no remission (Heb. 9:22).Paul writes, Ro. 5:1, "Therefore being justified by
faith, we have peace with YAHWEH through our
Sovereign YAHshua
the Messiah:
2. By Whom also we have access by faith into this grace
wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of Elohim.
3. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also:
knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4. And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5. And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of YAHWEH
is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.
6. For when we were yet without strength in due time the Messiah
died for the unrighteous.
7. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet
peradventure for a good man some would evendare to die.
8. But YAHWEH commendeth
His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, the Messiah
died for us.
9. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall
be saved from wrath through Him.
10. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled
to YAHWEH by the death of His Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
11. And not only so, but we also joy in Elohim
through our Sovereign YAHshua
the Messiah, by Whom we have now received
the atonement."
2 Cor. 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in the Messiah,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become
new,
18. and all things are of Elohim,
Who hath reconciled us to Himself by YAHshua
the Messiah, and hath given to us the
ministry of reconciliation;
19. To wit, that YAHWEH
was in the Messiah, reconciling the
world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and hath committed
unto us the word of reconciliation.
20. Now then we are ambassadors for the Messiah,
as though YAHWEH did beseech you by us: we
pray you in the Messiah’s stead, be ye reconciled
to Elohim.
21. For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of Elohim
in Him."
Remember what we read from the Inner Meaning of the Hebrew Letters? The first h is the upper power of being. The second h is the lower power of being. Each is united by the connection of the w to permit the flow of the Divine spirituality of the y. The first h corresponds to the giving hand. The second h corresponds to the receiving hand.
YAHWEH
(y, yod) the One Who has the power of upper being (h, hei) descended from heaven as a man (w, vav) taking on the power of lower being (h, hei) in order to atone for the people.Remember also Phil. 2:5-8.
WATER/SPIRIT
The water that poured forth from YAHshua’s side typified the Holy Spirit that was to be poured out on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2). The people were thirsting for the Spirit and YAHWEH made a way for the Spirit to be given.
YAHshua
was the second Adam, 1 Cor. 15:45, "And so it is written, ‘The first man Adam was made a living soul;’ the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. Sleep is a type of death, Jn. 11:1, "Now a certain man
was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2. (It was that Mary which anointed the Sovereign
with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was
sick.)
3. Therefore his sisters sent unto Him, saying, ‘Master,
behold, he whom Thou lovest is sick.’
4. When YAHshua heard
that, He said, ‘This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of Elohim,
that the Son of Elohim
might be glorified thereby.’
5. (Now YAHshua loved
Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.)
6. When He had heard therefore that he was sick, He abode two
days still in the same place where He was.
7. Then after that saith He to His disciples, ‘Let us go
into Judea again.’
8. His disciples say unto Him, ‘Master, the Jews of late
sought to stone Thee; and goest Thou thither again?’
9. YAHshua answered, ‘Are
there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not,
because he seeth the light of this world.
10. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because
there is no light in him.’
11. These things said He: and after that He saith unto them,
‘Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
12. Then said His disciples, ‘Master, if he sleep, he shall
do well.’
13. (Howbeit YAHshua spake of
his death: but they thought that He had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.)
14. Then said YAHshua
unto them plainly, ‘Lazarus is dead’."
YAHshua
, the second Adam, was put to sleep (death) so that His bride could be brought forth from His side, for His side was pierced and water poured forth. The first Adam was of the earth, earthy, therefore, his bride
was made of a rib that was taken from His side, but YAHshua,
the second Adam, was from heaven. He was of the Spirit and water (a type of the
Spirit) poured forth from His side in order to raise up a bride for Him. His
bride is to be of the Spirit, not of the flesh as Paul declares, 1 Cor. 15:50,
"Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom
of Elohim; neither doth corruption inherit
incorruption.
51. Behold, I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but
we shall all be changed,
52, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed.
53. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this
mortal must put on immortality."
Those who are given His Spirit are set aside as a chaste virgin in espousal to YAHshua (2 Cor. 11:2).
THE NAME YAHSHUA
Once YAHshua completed His mission, was sacrificed, buried and resurrected, the door was open for the people to receive the Holy Spirit which was given on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2).
The name YAHshua is quite marvelous and revealing when we search into it for it contains the y (yod) denoting YAHWEH the Rock and also the Hand which was struck. It also contains the h (hei) which denotes the power (Spirit) of upper being as well as "behold." Again, it contains the w (vav) which denotes the nail striking the hand.
But it also contains the Hebrew letters v (shin) and [ (ayin).
SHIN (v):
"v also stands for the name ~wlv, which denotes peace and perfection. As the essence of all harmony and perfection, HASHEM is called the ~wlv hvw[, Maker of Peace (Maharal, Nesivos). God’s descriptive Names do not imply only descriptions of His Attributes, but serve as examples for man to emulate. For man to thrive spiritually he must copy the attributes of his Maker. This is especially the case with regard to ~wlv, since it is essential for man’s survival that he harmonize the diverse elements of the world. Maharal sees this lesson of peace and harmony in the very form of the v. Its three heads symbolize two opponents standing on the extreme sides of a controversy, and the Divine mediator in the middle." The Wisdom in the Hebrew Alphabet, p. 208.
YAHshua
prayed, Jn. 17:17, "Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy word is truth. (NOTE: YAHshua is the Word [Jn. 1:1-3] and he is the Truth [Jn. 14:6]).We are able to come to a state of oneness through YAHshua.
1 Tim. 2:5, "For there is one Elohim,
and one Mediator between Elohim
and men, the Man the Messiah YAHshua,
6. Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due
time."
Eph. 2:4, "But YAHWEH,
Who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us,
5. Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together
with the Messiah, (by grace ye are saved;)
6. And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together
in heavenly places in the Messiah YAHshua:
7. That in the ages to come He might shew the exceeding
riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through the Messiah
YAHshua.
8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of YAHWEH:
9. Now of works, lest any man should boast.
10. For we are His workmanship, created in the Messiah
YAHshua unto good works, which Elohim
hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11. Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles
in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the
Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12. That at that time ye were without the Messiah,
being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants
of promise, having no hope, and without Elohim
in the world.
13. But now in the Messiah
YAHshua ye who sometimes were far off are
made nigh by the blood of the Messiah.
14. For He is our peace (~wlv),
Who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition
between us;
15. Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of
commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain one new
man, so making peace (~wlv);
16. And that He might reconcile (atone) both unto Elohim
in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17. And came and preached peace (~wlv)
to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto
the Father.
19. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners,
but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of Elohim;
20. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, YAHshua the Messiah
Himself being the chief corner stone;
21. In Whom all the building fitly framed together groweth
unto a holy Temple in the Sovereign;
22. In Whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of
Elohim through the Spirit."
Heb. 9:11, "But the Messiah
being come and High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect
tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building (the
tabernacle made in the wilderness);
12. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own
blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption
for us.
13. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of
an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14. How much more shall the blood of the Messiah,
Who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to YAHWEH,
purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohim?
15. And for this cause He is the Mediator
of the New testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the
transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might
receive the promise of eternal inheritance."
"One of the meanings of the word shin (!yv) is ywnv, "change." The Alef-Beit, p. 310.
Through YAHshua we are changed into a new man and at the resurrection we will be changed from mortal to immortal, from corruptible to incorruptible.
The shin in the name YAHshua stands for His role as High Priest, Intercessor, Mediator, Atonement, Redeemer, Savior, etc.!
AYIN ([):
"The [ is the letter of perception and insight, for its name !y[ means eye. As the organ of sight, ayin reveals more to man than any of the other four senses, as the Sages state: hYarl h[ymv hmwd wnya, hearing is not comparable to seeing (Mechilta, Shemos 19:9).
The word !y[ (related to wy[m) also means a spring of water (as in Genesis 16:7). Just as a spring brings water from the dark depths to the light of the sun, so the eye brings the perception of the world into the human mind. Through the narrow eye the entire universe is brought into focus (R’ Hirsch, Genesis 3:5). The Wisdom In the Hebrew Alphabet, p. 171.
The word ayin (!y[) means "eye"; "color"; "fountain"; in Aramaic—"sheep"." The Alef-Beit, p. 244.
"Words that end in !y[ include !y[.m:, which means spring, fountain, source, or well…" The Inner Meaning of the Hebrew Letters, p. 233.
Didn’t YAHWEH say that He was the FOUNTAIN of Living Waters? When the Rock YAHshua was struck, didn’t this open the door for the Holy Spirit to be poured out? Thus, YAHshua is the FOUNTAIN of Living Waters.
The ayin in YAHshua’s name not only has to do with an eye, but it has to do with a FOUNTAIN from whence we can drink the waters of the Spirit, the waters of light, truth, perception, spiritual insight and salvation!
THE WELL OF SALVATION
When YAHshua was struck
it could truly be declared, Isa. 12:1, "And in that day thou shalt say, ‘O
YAHWEH, I will praise Thee: though Thou wast
angry with me, Thine anger is turned away, and Thou comfortedst me.
2. Behold, El is my salvation; I will trust and not be
afraid: for YAH YAHWEH
is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation.
3. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells
(fountain) of salvation."
In the book of Zechariah (12:10) we read, "...they shall look upon Me Whom they have pierced…"
"Upon Me" is rendered in the Hebrew as tae yl;ae! "Upon Me" is understood by the word yl;ae. l;ae is upon. y is Me. But look what accompanies this word! It’s the Hebrew letters aleph (a) the very first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and tau (t) the very last letter of the Hebrew alphabet.
Listen to what YAHshua says in Rev. 21:6, "And He said unto me, ‘It is done, I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely."
While the Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and the Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet, YAHshua was speaking to the Apostle John, a Hebrew, and would have been speaking in the originally inspired language of the Scriptures, Hebrew! Thus, He would have said, "….I am Aleph and Tau…."
Those who look truthfully upon YAHshua understand that He is the beginning of creation and also is the end of creation. He is the Aleph and Tau, the One Who was pierced. He is YAHWEH the FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATERS, HalleluYAH!!!!!!!!!!
A CHEMICAL FORMULA
Exploring the name YAHWEH (hwhy) even further, we find that it can be written as a chemical formula.
YAHWEH
said that He was the Fountain of Living Waters. YAHshua is the Rock that was struck so that the waters (Holy Spirit) might be made available to the people.Looking at the name YAHWEH (hwhy), the yod (y) has to do with YAHWEH the Rock.
The formula for water is H2O which also can be written as H-O-H. Converting these symbols to Hebrew, we would obtain h-w-h.
It is the Spirit (h-w-h) that gives life.
YAHWEH’S
law (5 + 5/ h w h) is the law of life. The name hwhy is the name of existence, the name of life.
Water is composed of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. The atomic number for Hydrogen is 1. The atomic number for Oxygen is 8. The combination of the Hydrogen and Oxygen is 10.
The Hydrogen atom is the basic building block of all other atoms. It consists of one electron and one proton. It is also the lightest of all elements and rises above all others.
Hydrogen is combined of two words, "hydro" which means "water" and "gen" which means "to generate" or "to be born." Thus, Hydrogen means to be born of water.
YAHshua
said, Jn. 3:3, "...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of Elohim.Yes, HalleluYAH!!! And in this treatise I am telling you of earthly and heavenly things as revealed through YAHshua. If you can receive it, receive it with great joy and rejoicing. If you can’t receive it then you simply can’t.
THE REJECTED STONE
The chemical formula for water as well as the two tables of stone reveal the oneness of the Father and the Son. In the earthly, fleshly realm a husband and wife are to be one flesh even though they are two individuals. They are one flesh, one family with one family name.
In the Spirit realm, there is the Father and the Son. They are one Spirit. The law is divided into two tables, but it is one law. The water molecule is two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen.
The oxygen is what we breathe in for life. Breath, in Hebrew, is "ruach" which is also translated as "spirit."
The same goes for the Greek. The Greek word for "breath" is "pneuma" which is the same word for "spirit."
In the chemical formula for water, the basic building block, the foundation of all elements, all creation is "hydrogen." The water (spirit) has two parts "hydrogen." This would be a type of the Father and the Son Who are linked together in the Spirit world by the power of the Spirit (Oxygen being a type of the Spirit in this scenario).
The Father and the Son, together (linked by the Spirit), are or equal to YAHWEH.
The Psalmist proclaimed, 118:22, "The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner."
YAHshua
utilized this verse in regard to Himself in Mt. 21:42, Mk. 12:10-11 and Lk. 20:17. The Apostle Peter was also inspired to utilize this verse on behalf of YAHshua (Acts 4:11, 1 Pt. 2:7-8).The Hebrew word for "stone" is "eben" (!ba). This one little Hebrew word consisting of only three letters, can be divided into two Hebrew words; ba (father) and !n (son).
Didn’t YAHshua say that
the Father was in Him and He was in the Father?
Jn. 14:7, "If ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father
also: and from henceforth ye know Him, and have seen Him.’
8. Philip saith unto Him, ‘Master, shew us the Father,
and it sufficeth us.’
9. YAHshua saith unto
him, ‘Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me,
Philip? He that hath seen Me hath seen the Father;
and how sayest thou then, ‘Shew us the Father?’
10. Believest thou not that I am in the Father,
and the Father in Me? The words that I speak
unto you I speak not of Myself: but the Father
That dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works.
11. Believe Me that I am in the Father,
and the Father in Me: or else believe Me for
the very works’ sake."
In another place YAHshua said, Jn. 10:30, "I and My Father are one."
There is one law, but two tables. There is one molecule of water, but two parts Hydrogen. There is one Stone, but it consists of Father and Son.
THINKING ON HIS NAME
The Scriptures declare, Mal. 3:16, "Then they that feared YAHWEH spake often one to another: and YAHWEH hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared YAHWEH, and that thought upon His name."
The word "thought" is translated from the Hebrew word "bvx" (chashab) and is defined as: a primitive root; properly, to plait or interpenetrate, i.e. (literally) to weave or (gen.) to fabricate; figuratively, to plot or contrive (usually in a malicious sense); hence (from the mental effort) to think, regard, value, compute. It is variously translated as: (make) account (of), conceive, consider, count, cunning (man, work, workman), devise, esteem, find out, forecast, hold, imagine, impute, invent, be like, mean, purpose, reckon(-ing be made), regard, think.
Yes, we must think on His Name. We must hold His Name with high regard, value and esteem. We must find out His Name. We must count and compute His Name. We must be like His Name.
We must be born (regenerated) by water and the Spirit so that we may be sealed with His Name.
There are many other things that I could tell you concerning the name YAHWEH (hwhy), but so many wouldn’t be able to receive it.
We pray that this treatise will open your eyes to understand the importance of YAHshua our Messiah and that it will cause you to keep your eyes fixed steadfastly upon Him.
¹ The Zohar explains this verse in the following way.
Thereupon la (God), the "right cluster [dsh, Loving-kindness] lwdg la (Great "God), spread forth from the midst of the water to complete this name la and to combine with this extension, and so la was extended into myhla [hrwbg by the addition of ~yh]. These ~yh extended and became reversed so as to form lower waters hmy. This extension which took place on the second day is the upper waters. The h, y, m form ~yh (the sea), which is the upper waters. The reversal of these letters hmy (seaward, is the lower waters. When they were firmly established, all became one whole, and this name was extended to a number of places. The upper waters are male and the lower waters are female. At first they were commingled, but afterwards they were differentiated into upper and lower waters. This is the meaning of ~yhla upper waters," and this is the meaning of "ynda lower waters"; and this is the meaning of the upper h and the lower h….This is the name which is graven with the lettering h-w-h-y to reconcile the upper with the lower waters, the upper with the lower h; the insertion of the w between them harmonises the two sides. The Inner Meaning of the Hebrew Letters, p. 81.
