Synopsis:
1970; The drum line beat every corps in the nation on the whirlwind 2 week tour. We beat top ranked Boston in G.E., they beat us in execution. The Corps flew to Minneapolis, toured, and then flew back from Minneapolis. This was one of Mr. Porter's finest planned tours. The corps made finals again at both of the large National Championships. We moved up 3 slots. (Ranking 6th).

Synopsis:
1973; A rebuilding year for the corps, but through a lot of very hard work we won 1 more U.S. Open national title. Interestingly, we arrived a day late for prelims and still won the final contest. The second tour was instrumental in putting together a championship staff for the coming year. One bright spot was placing 3rd(tie) in Drums at DCI. (Ranking 6th).

1974 World Open

Synopsis:
1971; The corps won its 1st National Championship and the rivalry with Santa Clara really took off. This win was at the second most important show of the year, just before the infamous "big D".Who can forget Earl Douglas giving the spin around/drop knee salute for the last time. We were 2 & 2 against the Vanguard that year. Mr. Porter gave each corps member a "we beat them all" plaque. (Ranking 2nd).

Synopsis:
1974; A fantastic return to top form. For the first time, the corps was able to win the prestigious World Open title. We again were able to beat every corps in the nation at least once. A side note, the Santa Clara Vanguard staff came over to the Kingsmen staff at DCI and said, "You win the top t-shirt award." The whole Kingsmen staff had just bought maroon Assinippi General Store t-shirts for the show. (Ranking 3rd).

1970 American Legion
1971 CYO

Synopsis:
1969; The bugle line was one of the top brass sections of the year. Drum Corps News rightly praised the corps' "organ" like sound. However beating the top 4 mid-west brass sections was still to come. This was the first year the corps made finals. (Ranking 9th)

Synopsis:
1972; What can be said for this fantastic year. We started out a little behind the top 2 corps because we didn't start the drill till May 1st. But once we began the national tour we were undefeated. We won all 3 big titles, including the first DCI. (Ranking 1st).
