- A Sample Schedule -
1. Arrive at the contest 2 hours before performance time.
2. Instructors (or parent) check-in at main admission gate (make sure of performance time, it may have moved 11 minutes earlier or later.) Ask for the location of warm-up areas.
3. While instructor checks-in, parents should pay and get their hand stamped, performers change into uniforms, etc.
4. Approximately 1 1/2 hours before performance, start heading towards warm-up area (however do not hit first note of warm-up until 1 hour before performance time.)
5. 1 hour before performance time start warm-up. (you have time for exercises, 1 minute warm-up practice and total show run through. The pit may have to leave at this point if hand carried/wheeled. The battery has time for second run-through.)
6. 1/2 hour before performance, the battery marches/walks to the track or gym.
7. 11 minutes before the performance time the entire group is at the ready area in the gym.
8. At the judges signal you may begin your set-up in the performance area of the gym or field. This is also the start of your 11 minute time slot.
9. During your 11 minute time slot you must set-up, warm-up, signal the judges that you are ready, perform your show and exit the performance area.
10. The length of your show should be between 4-8 minutes.
11. 22 minutes after the conclusion of the last performance group, the drum captains (in uniform) will be asked to assemble in the gym, (or outside performance area), for the awards ceremony.
12. If you must leave early, and no one is available to pick up the awards, please come up to the judges booth and pick up your tapes.
13. The recaps of the show and the schedule/map for the next show are always posted on the website by the next day. Remind parents, before the show, that there is a $7 admission. Bring a booster check to cover this, if desired.
