"The Mulvane Town Company"
Filed Sept. 20, 1879
Certificate of Incorporation of " The Mulvane Town Company."
First, The Name of this corporation shall be "The Mulvane Town Company."
Second, The purposes for which this corporation is formed are to purchase and locate and lay out town sites and the sale and conveyance of the same in lots, and sub-divisions and otherwise in, upon and within vicinity of Sections 31 and 32 in Town 29, South of Range 2 West in Sedgwick County, Kansas, and Sections 5 and 6 in Town 30 South of Range 2 West in Sumner County, Kansas.
Third, The place where its business is to be transacted are at the town of Mulvane in the counties of Sedgwick and Sumner and the City of Topeka, Kansas, of Shawnee and all in the State of Kansas.
Fourth, The time for which this corporation is to exist is the period of twenty years.
Fifth, The number of directors of this corporation shall be five and the names and residences of those who are appointed for the first year are:
1. H. C. Helbert - Mulvane, Sedgwick County, Kansas
2. John Loper - Mulvane, Sedgwick County, Kansas
3. Joab Mulvane - Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas
4. N. E. Dickinson - Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas
5. Alden Spears - Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts
Sixth, The amount of the capital stock of corporation shall be Fifty Thousand Dollars - shall be divided in one thousand shares of fifty dollars each.

Personally appeared before me, Notary Public in and for Shawnee County, Kansas, the above named Ross Burns, T. H. Butler, James Moore, Joseph C. Waters and J. H. Troutman, all citizens and residents of said county and state, who are personally known to me to be the same persons who executed the above going instrument of writing and duly acknowledge the execution of the same.
In testimony whereof, I have here unto subscribed my name and affixed my notarized seal this 20th day of September A.D. 1879.
