Mustang Recycles continues to grow
January 10, 2007

Mustang Recycles reopened January 6 after a two week Christmas / New Year holiday. We served 52 customers, a jump from 40 the time before, setting a new record.

Cardboard has been our biggest recyclable material. This week we have gain two additional cardboard bins. We completely filled the one bin every seven days. With three bins, we can fill one and a half bins a week and still only need a pickup every other week.

We also saw our first volunteer from the Mustang High School ECO Club, Collen. We have more ECO club members schedule to assist for the rest of the school year.

Since the City of Mustang website now links to Mustang Recycles website, more people will be able to find out about the recycling program. David Cockrell, the City Manager, said that in coming months the water bill will also promote the recycling program.

Progress has been slow calling all the people who submitted their name on the Recycling Survey the town conducted in September. I ask your patience as these calls are being made. If you know anyone that has submitted their name and has not received a call, you can ask them to e-mail since I often work on recycling materials later than I would dare call someone.

Thank you all for your support,

Brian Figgins
