Mustang Recycles will be closed August 25.
August 24, 2007

Mustang Recycles will be closed on August 25 because our commingled bin has not been emptied in the last two weeks. Half of the two car garage at my house has been full of last weeks overflowed plastics. Since we do not have the capacity to accept any more recyclables, the recycling center will be closed until the commingled bin is emptied.

The paper and cardboard bins are unaffected and will remain open. Residents can use these bins are any time.

Residents are asked to either hold their recyclables until the center can reopen or visit Yukon Recycles. The Yukon recycling center is open 9 AM to 12 PM Saturdays.

Due to health and safety issues, residents are asked to not leave recyclables outside of the bins. Such recyclable material will be discarded, not recycled.

Recent flooding in other parts of Canadian County has complicated the issue. OEMA handles trash pick up for many areas in the county that has suffered in the latest bout of flooding as well as hauls are recyclables. Damaged roads and bridges make the routes that their drivers take much longer.

If the commingled bin is emptied next week, Mustang Recycles will be open on September 1. We had been schedule to be closed for the Labor Day holiday.

We regret the inconvenience this causes. The situation was beyond our control. We appreciate your patience.
