Mustang Recycles Starts Successfully
October 21, 2006

The first day of recycling in Mustang drew 34 vehicles with recyclable materials and kept the six volunteers busy during the two hours the center was open.

Volunteers Brian Figgins, Sarah Ivey, June Tate, Curt Figgins, and Cynda Figgins informed the pubic about what was recyclable, unloaded vehicles, and sorted the materials before placing them into the bins.

Councilman Scott Gibson also helped out and helped compact the cardboard so more could be added. Due to the large volume of cardboard, this task had to be performed a second time to ensure that all the cardboard could be managed.

Gina Lagaly with Eco-Motion was at the corner of Highway 152 and Mustang Road drawing interest, answer questions, and directing residents to the recycling center.

Because the Atibiti paper bin was not available for opening day, volunteers hauled two truck loads of paper to a nearby school paper recycling bin. Atibiti indicated that the bin should be available for the following Saturday.
