Good work on the site.  I joined the MVC team in 1980 and worked with the Office Services group until 1985 when I was invited to transfer to the Rec Centers where I was the Pool Supervisor.  What a wonderful job.  22 years later, I still think that Mission Viejo is the best community in the country and the Mission Viejo Company was the most amazing and fun organization that has ever been.  I am looking forward to the 2003 reunion.

BARB:  What a beautiful website!  I browsed it with ease--even on my elementary computer equipment.  Surely you will have a big reunion turnout because of your oh-so-professional design on this site.  I just wish you would find time to do the same for the Class of '59 (are you listening, Don?)

This web site is the greatest!  My sincere thanks to Barb and Don for all their efforts to put it together.  It brings back so many fond memories of my years at MVC and the lasting friendships made there.  To say the least, I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the reunion.  MVC was in a class all its own, and I’m so glad to have been a part of the team.

Barb, I'm so amazed, impressed and especially grateful to you for putting together this masterpiece!  What a lovely tribute it is to the spirit of MVC which still remains in us all.  I haven't been back to southern California since we moved to Bellingham, Washington (about 100 miles north of Seattle) in 1994, so this is definitely THE reason to plan a trip back!!  In the meantime, I'm enjoying the responses, fond memories and I look forward to renewing old friendships.  I also have lots of special pictures I'll be sending to you!

BARB & Committee . . .What fun it was to read all the links in MVC Alumni Web Site.  Barb, you are a real trooper. Barb, we are very happy to be able to attend to this invitation in 2003 and looking forward to sharing years of family stories since my departure from (Camelot) MVC.  I'll get busy and start looking for something to share with all of you, my friends and co-workers.  My only regret from working at MVC is that my children and grandchildren will never have the opportunity to work for a company as OUR MVC...... although they have heard plenty of my experiences from 1967 to 1989, including the Battle of the Sexes, and the MV Olympics, etc.  Barb/Don, I'm not surprised at your web page, but very proud and thankful to you for doing this!...... see you soon!

As I said in my note to you, what a great job on the web site.  Lots of good stuff.  Just goes to prove what I knew all the time...it wasn't those big time male executives that made things work...it was the quiet efficiency of that group of ladies called "Executive Assistant"!!!  Thanks for the site.  We have the date entered into the big book of records and we will plan to be there.

Barb, you have given MVC alumni a thoughtful gift.  I really enjoyed visiting this web site that you created with love and affection for your MVC friends.  I had to smile when I read a few signings that mention “hours” of work ... when it actually takes several months to create a site as lovely and as large as this!  Best wishes to all for a successful, well-attended MVC reunion on April 5, 2003.

Barbara, You have done a wonderful job on this.  Thank you for all of your hard work and I am planning on attending.  Mission Viejo people were always above the rest.  It is wonderful to see so many names from the past.  Those were some of the best years of my life.  I have searched for another family and I think I have finally found one.  I work for Johnson & Wales University in Denver and they are truly a family.  Most people never experience what we had at Mission and I feel fortunate that I have found a new family.  God Bless America.

Hi Barb: Your website is just too wonderful for words.  It's been great reading comments from so many people.  I've been working full time at Endevco Corp. in SJC since March of 1996 as an H.R. rep and also part time at Robinsons-May in Petite Sportswear at the Shops at Mission Viejo for the last five years.  Needless to say, I don't have a lot of time for anything else.  My son, Christian, is now 26, single, and working for Weseloh Honda in SJC.  Looking forward to the reunion next year.

Barb and committee members, what a great idea.  The website and reunion is one I am proud to be a part of and looking forward to seeing again people that for years were only voices.  After 18 years of saying “Mission Viejo Company,” it was hard to remember to say another company’s name.  Can’t wait to see everybody in 2003.

Dear Barbara, I was an employee of the Mission Viejo Company from 1984, to 1988.  I was full time from 1985-1988.  I was the Recreation Aquatics and Youth Activities Supervisor.  I left in 1988 to stay home with my daughter Susan in November 1988.  I worked at the Recreation Centers for Jim Hudson & Bill Fortmueller.  Montanoso was the last place that I worked.  I worked at Lake Mission Viejo from 1993-2000 with Deanna Scheffel, who was also a former Mission Viejo Company employee.  She is now the Director of Recreation & Human Services.  Now I am at the City of Laguna Niguel as a Recreation Supervisor, overseeing youth programs-day camps/teens & volunteers.  Thanks for putting together this site.  Unfortunately I will be at a conference and unable to attend the event on April 5th.  I hope that you have a big turnout.  Please include me in future reunions.

Hi Barb & Committee - I sent my check off  (finally!) after looking forward to this for so long.  Guess this last minute person just had too much time to plan!  I can't wait to see everyone and catch up.  So many members of my MVC family in those days will remember helping me in my endeavor to adopt.  It was quite a project, and it worked.  My son is now 21.  So many great memories of special events and special people.  I'm looking forward to a great day in April!

I finally had a chance to look at just some of the material that you and your 'associates' have put into the reunion. Few people can really realize all the time and effort that people go to to put such a thing together.  Your Web Site is incredible!  I want to thank you Barb, for all your work and effort that has obviously gone into this coming reunion.  You are a beautiful person and friend.  There are so many Mission people that have contributed to the success of the Company over the years.

The MVC Alumni Reunion 2003 on April 5th was a great success.  Thanks to everyone for your help and support!  Following are remarks from some of the Alumni regarding the 40th Anniversary Year of the Company event:

Danette Fenstermacher: Thank you for all the countless hours of time and effort in organizing the 40th year reunion of MVC.  It was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance.  I sure hope all of you were able to enjoy and relax once the festivities were well on the way.  Thanks again.

Charlie Ware: Barb, thanks again to you and your committee for putting together the great reunion. It was a fantastic time.

Art Cook: Barb, I want to tell you and your committee what a super job they did.  You are to be truly congratulated for providing and planning such an opportunity for so many to have such a wonderful time!  People will be talking about that night for a long time!  Thanks again for all the effort you and Don did to make it so successful.

Max & Diane Johnson: We had such a great time!  Thanks for all your hard work!

Marsha & Steve Selway: Barbara & Committee, Steve and I thank all of you for a fabulous reunion.  We sure enjoyed ourselves.  Being reminded of how great it was to be part of Mission Viejo Company is always welcomed –

a very special time of our lives.

Elaine Carter: Still recalling all the wonderful moments.  Thanks for making it possible!   Having the opportunity to see and talk with so many MVC friends made it a most memorable evening.

Doug Heckle: Barb, you and the Golden Girls did a great job in putting together the MVC Reunion. When you get together next time give them my sincere appreciation of all the hard work that you gals did in this wonderful event.

Jim Gilleran: Barb, thanks so much for the pics.  Great job by Don on the video...wonderful memories for all of us…Art as always is our best MC.  You gals did a great job...what a team we had.... and...still have!  All in all, a wonderful event, lets do it again!  Love to all.

Georgia Ober: We had a blast at the party.  How fun it was to see so many coworkers there....brought back many memories.

Pat Henry: Hi Barb, Great party!  Everyone seemed to have so much fun!

Bill Smith: Barb, It was an honor to share the “The Mission Way” song with everyone at this INCREDIBLY special gathering. Thank you SO much for all the effort of everyone involved!  As you are well aware, it could have lasted for several days without affording adequate time to catch up with everyone, but it was pure joy trying.  Be assured that there are many folks who are deeply appreciative of the perseverance that made it a reality.  With never-ending gratitude for your efforts and your friendship.

Curt West: A great event and a great job.  It was fun meeting up with old friends.

Brenda Cook: Hi Barbara: I just wanted to thank all of you that put the reunion together.  It was so much fun and so great to see so many old friends.  I hope the next one will be even bigger, reaching more people.  Thanks again for all the hard work.  I'm sure it was quite a job.

Pat Ruecker: Barb, I want to commend your committee for the fabulous job done on the reunion. It was so good to see so many of my old MVC friends; thank you so much. Even Lee, who had a performance that night got to stop by and say Hi to a few people.  It was a great success!

Marty & Peg Russo: We want to thank you for putting together the wonderful reunion.  Please add our thanks to all the committee for all the time and hard work.  We had a wonderful time.  Thank You!!!!!!

Kathie (Robinson) Hortter: Barb, the evening was such a big success.  Thank you so much for being such a big part in organizing this event.   So much is happening at this time, in the world and all of our lives, I really needed at this time to hook up with my past that has so many good memories.  Thank you again.

Shirley Kenson: How do I begin to thank you lovely ladies for all your hard work and the wonderful time we all had?  I spoke to so many people that I had a sore throat until Wednesday.  I don't believe you could find another group where there were so many genuine friendships formed and so much affection.  Thanks again, everyone I spoke to had the same reaction.  Love to you all.

Mary (Putman) Cordes: Dear Barb, I just wanted to tell you and your committee how fabulous the MVC Reunion was last Saturday evening.  You did an exceptional job, which was evident by how smoothly the event ran.  It was great to see so many people I had worked with while at MVC.  The entire evening brought back so many wonderful memories that I will always cherish.  Thanks again for making the reunion happen.

Paula (Hall) Blum: Hi Barb, you did such a great job -- the reunion was just awesome!!  What a great time, I only hope we can do it again.  We all had such fun and we've renewed many friendships for years to come -- nothing is more important than that.  Thanks for all of your hard work and for making the reunion a tremendous success!!

Ben Axt: CONGRATULATIONS ON AN EXCELLENT PARTY. I think the party came off very well, everything was just right. All the HARD work of the committee paid off BIG TIME. Thanks.

Linda Sohl: Barb, just wanted to thank you for organizing the great party last Saturday.  Everyone I met there said they had a great time and all your organizing skills were appreciated.  You had a great staff backing you up this time and this year's reunion will be a hard one to beat. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Beverly DiLauro: Hi Barb, wanted to thank you and all the committee members for a wonderful reunion.  Everyone looked younger or better than the last time I saw them!  Working at the reception desk gave me the opportunity to see everyone as they arrived and exchange greetings.  Thanks again and I'll be looking forward to the reunion photos.

Jeanette Brooks: The reunion was wonderful.  Thank you so much for all your hard work!

Bob Sciotto: Good job Barbara!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a good time.  The party was wonderful.  Thanks for your efforts.

Jeanne Bauer: Barb -- GREAT, GREAT PARTY ON THE 5TH!!!!!  I want to say a very special THANK YOU for all your hard work in pulling this all together.  I know you've had lots of help, but you are a very big part of why this event was so memorable.  Thank You!!!!!

Wendy Harder: Hi Barb -- Thanks again for all of YOUR hard work...you made this one happen!

Mike Turner: Barb, the reunion party was excellent.  You and your committee did a great job.  Congratulations.

Sue Herigstad: We had a great time.  It's good that we all feel so close to each other.  MVC really was just one big family.  It was hard to talk to everyone and find out what was happening so we better get together again soon.

Vince Esposito: We had a great time.

Darrylle Stafford: It was a pleasure to see everyone. I'm very proud to have started my career with such a fine group of people.

Barbara Anderson: It was certainly a wonderful party.  I hope that we can do it again at a facility that could hold perhaps 500 of us.  Thank you again for all your efforts!

Jim Huesman: Barb - I wanted to thank you and your committee for putting together that great reunion.  We truly were/are a compatible group that managed to accomplish a lot.  The reunion party was over too quickly to get to talk with everyone, but it was great to see them all nonetheless.  Please thank all of your fellow hard workers for me.  Y'all did a truly remarkable job.

Yong Kim: Hi Barbara, it was a wonderful reunion party you prepared. I felt like I was in one of MVC's party - never left MVC.  Yes, we will never find any company like MVC anywhere.  It was such a great company to work with all those wonderful people like a big family.  I am so fortunate that I was a part of it.  I was so happy to see them all last Saturday.  It was a great idea.  You and the girls did a wonderful/beautiful job.  Hopefully we can have this kind of reunion every year. Thank you so much.

Phil Reilly:  Boy, did I miss a great event or what?  Loved the card.  It will be copied and hung in each of the “offices.”  How nice to see the names and remember the faces and the fun.  I heard that it was just great.  Truly sorry that Valley and I could not have been there to say hello to so many old friends and share some of the "war" stories that we all endured in the process of producing the California Promise.  I will be so grateful to see the tape that Don made.  Thanks again.

Kathleen Hughes: Dear Barb, what a lovely picture of you and "the girls!"  You all look wonderful!  Anxiously awaiting the reunion pictures and news!

Jim Toepfer: Good job, Barb!  We are really sorry for our absence.  As you might know, having been a part of the Company from the beginning it is really remarkable for a group of people still being so close in so many respects. Regardless of the lack of more Colorado people being there, it doesn't mean they are not as much a part of what makes Mission-what made Mission-really unique.  We only hope the magic of the moment was really there and brought back the many, many memories of a great Company.  Again you have obviously been so great in getting the 'gang' together.  Thanks to all who made this effort so unique.  God Bless.

Jan Zlaket: I heard that the reunion was a great success.  Robert Kahn was in the office and said everyone had a great time and that he was sure they would be having another one.

Lew Clinton:  Barb, had lunch with Denise and Craig Hardy.  They in turn sent the Web Site for Mission Viejo Company.  What a lot of memories.  Had a long letter from Craig about the party and the attendees.  What a group of people to get together.

Joy Ferlauto:  Barbara, thank you for the incredible Web site and Photo albums of Mission Viejo Company alumni.  I enjoy reminiscing.  Your Mission Viejo Story is a historical masterpiece.  Thank you for all the dedicated effort and for sharing with me.

Barb Idstein: Hi, Barbara!  That was such a great party - I enjoyed it immensely!!!  It was so wonderful to see and talk to everybody!  What fun!  Thanks so much to you and Don and all of the committee workers and everybody who worked so hard to put the event together!  I think it was such a smashing success!!!

Jackie Hare: Barb - So typical of Mission Viejo Co. people - quality people, quality job.  Thanks to all who made this event possible.  It was wonderful to have the opportunity to spend time with so many friends in such a short period of time.   It was so encouraging to see that nobody changed.  Dan was sorry he could not attend but was so glad to hear about all those that I got to spend time with.   It was good to hear about each persons lives and families and good to laugh again together about memories of a very special time in our lives. To all our friends, please stay in touch by e-mail (jackie@jlhare.com).  To Brenda and Jerry...we will try to visit soon.  To Marv and Shirley...great to see you there.   What I will remember the most.... I was so impressed by the genuine love and compassion that I repeatedly saw in peoples eyes and smiles.  Priceless....timeless....friendships.

Love to All, God Bless you all,

Susie Trimborn: Hi Barbara - We had a great time at the party, it was so much fun to see everyone, especially our old group.  Almost every person from our old CADA was there, and that was really fun.  We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone.  I couldn't believe how great all the gals looked.  Keep in touch and thanks again for all your hard work.

Beth Bermudez: Hi Barbara, The reunion was great.  Albert & I had a great time seeing everyone.  Let's do it again someday.

Chris Rodda: I’m so glad that the reunion went so well.  I’m sorry that I couldn’t be there.  Thank you so much for all of your hard work reporting on the reunion and all of the people involved.  It looks like it was a great evening!

Mark Schubert: Dear Barbara: Thank you for doing such an outstanding job staying in touch.  I hope I can work out making the next one. It looks like such great fun.

Sally Jo Clark: Hi Barb.  What fantastic pictures.  You and Don did a great job and created something that many of us will cherish for a long time to come.  It was great to see pictures of people that I didn't even see that evening.  Thank you again for your true labor of love in making the evening such a success and then creating a lasting memory with the photo album.  You are so special!!!

Connie Short: Barb, every time I look at the web site I am just amazed at what you have created.  All those wonderful comments from our friends at MVC.  You can read the love in each one of them.  You and Don have truly created something that will be cherished by all for many years to come.

Barbara Anderson: Barb - You and "the girls" did such a fabulous job of organizing the reunion. It was a wonderful party, and the slide show is great.  Thanks so much for all your work

Jerry Poston: Barbara - Thanks for the update.  Looks like everyone had a great time.  Thanks again.

Jo Ann Hayden:  Looks like you had a great time.  Thanks for keeping me up to date.
