My Biggest Goal is Yet to Be Achieved

Time to Start Traveling Welcome to the Official Site of Nathan O'Connor's Grand Tour of World Cities. On this site, you'll receive an introduction and information about one of the most ambitious projects any human has ever undertaken. The objective is nothing less than remarkable - some 200 cities on 6 continents must be visited by 2047. The task is daunting, with many obstacles to be taken in to consideration. There are language barriers, financing concerns, possible future health issues, and many of the required cities simply lie in countries that are plain hostile to American Citizens. Can the task be done? New York City

Why a Tour of the World?

A long time ago, I once read somewhere that we should all try to visit at least one new place every year. The idea seemed like a good one to me, but I thought, "Why should I limit myself to only one place per year? Why not 5? or 10? or 100?" After I thought about this for a while, I decided that what I should really do is simply determine all the places I'd like to visit, and then visit them. That way, I wouldn't be restricting myself to only visiting only a certain number of new places at certain intervals. I'd just visit wherever I wanted to visit whenever I could. Next thing you know, I was thinking of applying my philosophy of goal setting to this idea, and voila! My world tour emerged!

So, this goal of mine is an extension of my goal setting attitude and my curiosity about the world and my enjoyment of seeing new places and meeting new people. There are two parts to the plan, and they are discussed below. The first part is my goal to visit the 100 most populous cities in the United States of (North) America by May 31, 2017, about 15 years after the goal was originally set. The second part is my goal to visit the 100 most populous world cities by May 31, 2047, about 45 years after the goal was originally set.
