Hello! Thanks again for visiting my webpage. Archangel Rest is designed to
give you a peak in to my life... to tell you my goals, my story, and all about
who I am and the people who are important to me.
So who, after all, am I? Well, for starters, my name is Nathaniel David Michael O'Connor. Michael, in case you are wondering, is my confirmation name. I selected Michael after St. Michael the Archangel. My first name, Nathaniel, is a Hebrew name… it's original form is Natan - El. It means, "Is given of God." If you change one letter, this becomes "No tan - El" which can be construed to mean "He has no tan" in Spanish, which is also true. Hehehehe. The Catholic Encyclopedia contains good information about the biblical significance of my name at: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/10711b.htm
Anyway, I'm a positive, handsome, intelligent, young Catholic man of mostly Irish descent. I enjoy dancing, singing, basketball, racquetball, golf, listening to music, nights out on the town, movie nights (at home and the cinema), reading, writing, and studying history, theology, political science, philosophy, and finance. I also love to travel... my most recent personal goal is to visit the 100 most populated cities in the United States over the next 15 years, and the 100 most populated cities in the world over the next 45 years. (read more on my travels page).
A sweet and beautiful princess, Lady Michelle of Garden Grove, is the love of my life. Michelle and I met in November 2003 on eharmony.com. With every day that goes by, Michelle and I grow closer to each other in love, and I am looking forward to us spending the rest of our lives together!

I like dinners at new restaurants, dancing at night-clubs, or simply going out for coffee. I like picnics in parks (although I don't go very often) or just going out for a drink with good friends. My communication style is direct and honest. I think people spend way too much time talking about things that are trivial or inconsequential. I guess for me that happiness in life is just a matter of placing your priorities correctly, helping people around you, and having a good relationship with God.
But enough about what I have to say about me… What do other people say about me? I can't speak for other people, so I asked them to speak for themselves. Here was the result:
"I met Nathan in the fall of 2000, immediately I was drawn to him by his
sense of awareness and knowledge of campus affairs at Loyola's Graduate
School of Business. In hopes of staying involved in student life I worked
with Nathan on resurrecting a student council which once thrived at the
school. His enthusiasm and dedication was quite remarkable. At times,
Nathan may have appeared to have a type 'A' personality, aggressive,
ambitious, confident, competent perhaps even arrogant. In working closely
with Nathan I quickly learned that in all cases his intentions were
admirable, however apathy was something that needed to be addressed. In any
event, I found in Nathan an Intelligent person with immense potential and a
tireless work ethic. Most people shy from criticism very few actively
pursue it, I have also found in Nathan a dear friend."

"Nathan 'NateDog' O'Connor -
What can one say about a guy that has finished his MBA at 23, will probably have
his PhD in Finance by the time he is 28, and can keep up a five hour long
discussion over some Warsteiners about world politics with a German?
One thing: When it comes down to beer - he can't keep his cost straight!
Nate is notoriously known for ordering the 12oz Miller bottle for $3.50,
when the 16oz Miller drafts are on special for $3.00.(What ever happened to
the shameless exploitation by consumers of economies of scale?)
To hell with all that derivative / finance stuff, Nate...
Cost Accounting that's where it's at!"

"ABOUT HIM.....
It can be difficult to describe your good friend when you feel like you know him so well. Especially for Nathan, my best friend in the whole world, I feel like my words will be insufficient to express my feelings about him. Let me start from the beginning. We met in August 1999 in Chicago. He was first my neighbor, then my friend, then my good friend, and finally my boyfriend. So many things attracted me to him like his intelligence, his communication skills, his patience, his forgiveness, his generosity, his love, and his passion for the best in the world.
He is a very special person to me for so many reasons. He always corrected my mistakes to help me speak English better. He organized a travel plan for me, for the whole United States, and took me to visit so many neat places. He and his family's presence in my life has made my life more beautiful. Nathan dreams big and he does everything to make these dreams come true. Nothing is impossible for him. For instance, he was brave enough to come to Chicago in order to change his small city life perspective. He changed his life radically in a good way. He worked to finance his MBA, and he soon became President of the Graduate Business Student Association and made Loyola University Chicago a better place for all business students.
He loves to search for truth and then shares it with anyone who desires to learn. He never gives up. He never gets tired of hard work. He opens his eyes to each day with a beautiful smile and accomplishes a lot everyday. He has a lovely childish and innocent character behind his mature personality. At work he becomes very professional so that even I, as his girlfriend, had to set an appointment to talk to him. At home, he prefers to give all his attention to his friends, family, and special people in his life, like me. However if he sits in front of the computer or television, he disconnects his ties with the whole world. It is then time for him to make his plans and decisions for his life or to relax by playing games or to educate people in the chat rooms or to read news about the whole world.
If you live close enough to him, you start to "reject the negative, substitute it with a positive", which is his life principle. Nathan is a good son, good brother, and good friend, and I know that he will be a good father and a good husband. He will, some day, have a big and very happy family and a successful career. It is a privilege for me to call him my friend. Love,"
