| The Gonset G-76 transceiver was built from 1961-1962. It provides AM or CW operation an 80, 40, 20, 15, 10 and 6 meter amateur bands.
The receiver is dual-conversion with 1st I-F at 2065 KHz, 2nd I-F at 262 KHz. Features include BFO for SSB and CW reception and automatic noise limiter. Unit has excellent selectivity and sensitivity. Transmitter and receiver oscillators are temperature- compensated. Transmitter has stable VFO for all bands except 50 MHz which is crystal control only. Crystal control of other bands is optional. Power
input to transmitter is 100 watts AM and phone, 120 watts CW. Final tube is 6DO5 operating into pi-net output. Control is push-to-talk or by T-R switch on front panel. Meter facilitates tuning, acts as "S" meter on receive. |
