Ten Tec Jupiter/Pegasus External Transmit  Receive Control Expansion

On the back of the cabinet of the Jupiter is a phono jack labeled EXT T/R connector . This output is used to control one external amplifier. I enjoy using my Jupiter on HF and VHF with the N4PY software. I have several amplifiers and transverters that I need to control from the single T/R connector.  This circuit expands the single output to six outputs.

I purchased the following parts at the local Radio Shack Store:

(1) Aluminum enclosure 2 ¾ x 2 1/8 x 1 5/8
         Radio Shack  part number 270-235

(8) Phono Jacks
         Radio Shack  part number 274-346

(1) .1 x .1 piece of perf board  1 ¾ x 2 ¼ “
         Radio Shack  part number 276-1394
(7) 2N2222 transistors
         Radio Shack part number 276-1617
(6) 1 k 1/4 watt resistors
         Radio Shack part number 271-1321
(1) 10k 1/4 watt resistor
         Radio Shack part number 271-1335
(1) 100k 1/4 watt resistor
         Radio Shack part number 271-1347

Here's what the inside looks like:

The perfboard is supported by a couple of long spacers and attached by two long 4-40 screws.

I use one of the 13.5v outputs on the back of the transceiver to provide power to this circuit.

The same warning applies to this circuit as the one in the TenTec manual:

Do not connect the EXT T/R outputs to a circuit that will impose higher voltage, higher current, or negative polarity.

The new outputs are rated like the original: a maximum of + 24 volts with the current rating of 200 milliamperes.
