Kits from N4UAU

I no longer supply kits but you can read about them here and get your own parts if you want

Uncle Albert’s Touch Pad keyer This might be the world’s smallest keyer. It certainly is the one with the fewest moving parts, NONE.  Featured in the October 2001 issue of QST magazine, this keyer will do so much, it will surprise you. You can read a PDF of the October 2001 article. Note this is copyright by ARRL.

This is a surface mount project.

Worlds Smallest CPO

A versatile and small code practice oscillator in SM which will let you practice your CW. It is the little silver square at the bottom of the straight key! You can down load a PDF of the QST February 2001 article too!  Note this is a copyright article by ARRL . Also some further thoughts I wrote about in the June 2001 issue of QST.

My All Purpose Voltage Booster

A very efficient Switching Mode voltage booster. Use it to power a 12 volt QRP rig from 4 Nicads or a 19 volt laptop from a 12 volt battery. Cruising sailors around the world are using it because it is efficient and makes almost no RF noise. You can read the original QST July 1997 article too. Note this is copyright by ARRL

The N4UAU Super CW Station  NEW REDUCED PRICE! Displays CW - both what you send and what is coming in, sends random code for practice, 3 memories, built in clock and alarm. Seeing what you are sending will improve your sending, being able to see what you are receiving will help you ability to copy.

SMALL- A Surface Mount Amplifier that’s Little and Loud  NEW REDUCED PRICE!

A surface mount audio amp. This is a small but very high fidelity device. It will beat the pants off the LM386!  Put it inside a small CB speaker for an amplified speaker. You can read a PDF of the June 1996 article. Note this is copyright by ARRL.

The Hourglass Timer - Fits in a 35 mm film can. Sounds off at a preset time from a few seconds to several hours. Reset it by turning it upside down for a second. You can read the original QST July 1999 article too. Note this is copyright by ARRL.

Make Circuit Boards without any Chemicals!

You can easily make your own boards with no chemicals. Whether your project is a surface mount or non surface mount my method works well. I use it to prototype all my new projects.  You can read the original QST April 1999 article too. Note this is copyright by ARRL.

These 3 are
surface mount projects. A Current Limiting Switch protects circuits. An easier SM project, which will help you get used to working with these smaller parts. Easy but useful since the switch limits current which can prevent ‘smoke’ from shorts etc. You can read the original QST April 1999 article too. Note this is copyright by ARRL.

A Small 5 Volt Inverter. Get a negative voltage from a positive one. Similar to the old ‘7660’ but much smaller and handles more current as well. Provides an opportunity to work with a SOT 23 and 2 small capacitors. You can read the original QST May 1999 article too. Note this is copyright by ARRL.

A Low Voltage Battery Disconnect Switch Don’t let your 12 volt battery run dry, This switch automatically disconnects it when the voltage gets too low.  Handles up to 10 amps of current. You can read the original QST June 1999 article too. Note this is copyright by ARRL.
