*     Directions to Life 

Stop for a moment and consider the reality of your life. You are, like everyone else, pulled in a thousand different directions each day. But the reality is unless you go in the right direction, nothing you do will matter. Please, please take a few minutes to consider the right direction. The direction God wants you to go. (Isaiah 1:18)

 

God is so concerned about you finding the right direction, He wrote a letter explaining everything you need to know. The letter is the Holy Bible. In His letter to you He expressed that He loves you more than can be imagined.  God loves YOU so much that he was willing to allow His only Son, Jesus Christ, to come to this earth and die for YOU!   (John 3:16)

 

Every person, including you and me, has been going the WRONG WAY. We decided to go our way instead of God’s Way. We wanted to do “our own thing” even when “our own thing” was something God did not want us to do. That is what God calls sin. Sin is doing something God does not want us to do. We are all guilty. We have all sinned against God. (Romans 3:23)

 

God does not want us to go the wrong way.  He knows that the wrong way only brings separation from Him for all eternity.  God loves so much that He does not want even one person to be separated from Him in eternity.  He does not want YOU to be separated. (2 Peter 3:9)

 

God wants you to make a U-TURN.  God wants you to turn away from your sins and return to Him. This “turning around” requires that you FIRST ADMIT TO GOD THAT YOU ARE A SINNER.  God promises that if YOU are willing to return to Him, HE WILL ACCEPT YOU. (John 6:37)

 

 SECOND, after you admit to God that you are a sinner, you must come to Him the ONE WAY, the only way, that He       has provided.  You must acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God, who died on the cross for your sins.    (John 14:6)

 

THIRD, you must yield your life to God.  You do this by accepting Jesus Christ's death as the payment for your sins. Having admitted to God that you are a sinner and having acknowledged that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has died for your sins, YOU invite Jesus Christ into your life. (Acts 16:31)

 

If you know how to talk on a telephone, you already know how to talk to God.   You talk and He will listen.  The fact that you have reached this part of the page clearly indicates that GOD IS CALLING your number.  Will you answer the call to come to Him?  Would you like to start going in the right direction?  Would you like to have ALL your sins forgiven?  Would you like to know for sure that you are going to heaven when you leave this earth?  Would you like to have a personal relationship with God Himself?  If you sincerely want these things, you must begin by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.  The following is a prayer you can express to God if the desire of your heart is to have God's forgiveness and direction for your life.

                    Dear God,  I know that I am a sinner and I can do nothing to save myself.  I know that Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, died on the cross for my sins.  Please forgive me of my sins.  I am asking you to allow Jesus' death  to be the payment for all my sins and please grant to me eternal life.   I accept the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord.   Please help me follow the direction you want me to go.  Thank you for forgiving me and accepting me into Your family.  I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and for Your Glory.  Amen

 If you sincerely prayed that prayer to God, you have just ENDED THE DETOUR your life was taking.  The Bible teaches that at the moment you prayed to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, your sins were forgiven and the Holy Spirit of God came to live in your life.
