Great year from the start. He brought in some big bags and found fish even on the tough days. Great Job ! 2006 Season is On!
1st: CT River Enfield The water was too low at Quabog MA so the local river save the day. The weather was cold to start, but we all survived. In the end the weather was nice, but Al G. was back. As usual, he squeaked out five fish and the win. He fished with Eric in his first tournament and he is still asking why Al's boat doesn't have seatbelts or a heater (single console boaters suck). It was a tough day on the river and lunker was a challange. 2nd: Shirley Lake, MA This one was close again, the water level that is. We had just enough water to launch. The tournament director was worried about the complaints, until the fish count was in at the end of the day. 54 fish for the club and all was made good. The 2 biggest factors were fish coming to the beds late in the day and wanting nothing to do with hooks. The other factor was Al Gags fishing Webster Lake. No, we didn't give him the wrong directions or lake (but not a bad idea for the future). He fished CT Outdoors MA Trail. This left the door open for new blood at the top, yup really new. Joe C. (AKA Me) came out of nowhere (or the bottom of the club standings ) to bring in a 7.70 lb bag. He squeaked by Jeff D for his first NCBA tournament win. This will be helpful to stop his wife from heckling him at the next awards banquet. The team of Joe C. & Guy B. took the team award. Guy brought them to the fish and came on strong in the afternoon to catch the team's lunker at 3.75lbs. Brian S. bumped Guy's hopes with his great nack for finding a lunker, this one at 4.44 lbs. We have check his livewells, and he still does it. Great job. Oh ya, Al G. won his tournament. His lunker was 6.9 lbs. Not bad if you like that kind of thing.....
The rest of the season was ok, no time to bable. Sorry
;)

In a tight race to the finish with Cory, Jeff Norris left no questions with a great bag at the final venue at CT River in Enfield! Congratulation to a GREAT Season!! 2005 Gardner Well, the fish were finally on. Big fish were caught by Chad and Jeff N. The 4.29 smallmouth that Chad landed will be tough to beat this year. Jeff N. caught the lunker of the day, 4.55. Cory is finishing strong in the 2 first tournaments and has a very respectable 10 pt lead for Mr. Bass. Candlewood is looking good with spawn coming this weekend. There was a 9 pound largemouth taken out of the lake the first weekend of May. Mr. Bass is taking the start of the season slow. The death threats for winning 2 years in a row have finally been taken seriously.
The first tournament is gone and the second almost here. There was a kink the armor of Mr. Bass and many of last years top finishers. Zero was a common number for many teams and anglers. Between the heavy rain and gusting wind conditions were less than ideal, but there were some fish caught. Unfortunately, Mark's 2 fish swam into the side live well too many times and measured just short. As usual, Brian found a nice large mouth for lunker. Cory brought in the big bag to take the early club lead. Webster is next and hopefully the weather will be more "fishy".
