What happened to NCRoads.com and what is the point of the Annex page? NCRoads.com is an awesome site - with tons and tons of information and scans, original diagrams, and photos from Matt Steffora's travels. The short answer is that his interest in the main focus of his site to that point - the routes and where they go/once went - has waned. As author of the Virginia Hwys Page (a site with far less material, yet time consuming to do correctly) I can certainly understand that. The point of the Annex page is to answer the question "What about the routes not covered yet? (but tantalizingly mentioned in the existing NCRoads entries)" In a way the site serves to satisfy personal curiosity. But others are probably curious, too, so we share the wealth in the website. The Annex site is not meant to duplicate previous efforts on NCRoads.com of completed work. Some material on there had not been updated from when he had only a few sources, so those pages have been researched and presented. The Annex site also will focus on changes to the NC Highway system going forward, as well as, other miscellaneous information that might be of interest to the roadgeek community at large (multiplexes, route logs, etc).
Do the colors on the pages mean anything? The Annex site is trying to maintain the color scheme of routes Matt had started that indicate the region of the state they are in.
