Neddy's Kitchen

Neddy's Kitchen

Welcome to my kitchen, overlooking Pohick Valley in northern Virginia. In winter, while I am preparing meals and peering outside through the hollies and mountain laurel, I see Pohick Creek meandering below. When warm weather arrives, the treetops of the oaks, hickories, beeches and sweet gums are framed in my picture window, with the birds and squirrels flitting among their limbs. My kitchen is decorated with copper pots and molds that I have collected. Many are antique, but many I still use. I also love blue and white dinnerware and the old transfer ware pieces I've found are on my walls. The rest is in the cupboards and is of English, Portuguese, German and Chinese provenance. I use it everyday. My husband recently refurbished the room, including some of his beautiful woodworking. I am sharing here a few of the recipes that I've collected and used during the past forty years of homemaking and entertaining. I hope that you enjoy them. If you would like to visit the guest book it is here: Neddy's Guestbook.

Be present at our table Lord,
be here and everywhere adored.
We creatures bless, and grant that we
may feast in paradise with Thee. Amen.
