Welcome to the official Bad Luck and Trouble Blues Band website. Bad Luck and Trouble is a Rhode Island based, high energy hard rocking band that has been dedicated to keeping the blues alive since 2001. All of our renditions are designed to stay very true to the roots of the blues, often bringing back the works of artists that otherwise may have gone forgotten, white at the same time providing the audience with that driving rhythm to keep the dance floor moving all night.
Bad Luck and Trouble Blues Band is available for all types of public, private, or corporate events. We also provide PA (Public Address) for your event announcements, raffels etc. DJ Services can be provided for extended events, or other special circumstances.

Our Story
Soon after I, Dave Neri, tried to learn to play the guitar, I met my best friend who happened to be cousins with a lifelong friend of mine whom I’ve always wanted to perform with. We started hacking around in ambulance garages and have been together ever since. We formed a band called “The Latest Trick”. A few years, and about 11 bass players later, we have evolved into a dedicated blues band now called “Bad Luck & Trouble” using a nice variety of horns incorporating a strong rhythm section providing a sweet blues based sound.
Along the way, during the search for a lead singer, my brother Ken had a shot to stand in for us temporarily while we found a permanent replacement for our last singer. To our surprise Ken quickly grew to become a promising young singer/harp player at the young age of 20. Like myself, Ken is self taught. Most of the members of this band are either self taught or haven’t dedicated serious time playing their instrument in years until joining this band. That doesn’t mean we don’t play our hearts out at every show.
It has been a long and frustrating road for those of us who have been together since the beginning but it has been worth it. We have grown to provide a diverse selection of deep roots blues, swing, post modern blues, rock n’roll and some classic rock. Our goal is to always have fun and not let performing become too much like “work”. We also are trying our hardest to continue to keep live bands, especially blues bands, playing out in various venues around the state. Unfortunately today, it is nearly impossible for a small time club owner to continue to support live music. This is largely due to things like Karaoke, DJ’s, smoking laws, taxes and insurance. You will find us available to play almost any venue.
We’d also like to thank some of the local bands who have influenced us like “Dave Howard and the High Rollers” and “Erik Narwhal & the Manatees”. We hope you will help keep live music alive by supporting local talent. You'd be surprised what you could be missing. We hope to see you soon!!
