In 2002, 38.2% of 18-24 year olds were registered to vote while only 17.2% actually voted
-- that's less than one in five of those eligible!
Like it or not, being an American comes with certain responsibilities. This is your country. This is your government. If you don't like it, change it. But if you're not willing to do a little work like vote, write or call your representatives or become politically involved, then you have no right to complain. Frankly, if you don't vote regularly then politicians and the media don't care what you think.
