September 2009: Thanks to the wonderful support of member in our communities, we raised over $10,000 this year and the seven year total for money raised for pediatric cancer research and support programs has passed $120,000!!! Thanks to everyone who has helped make this annual event a success!
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and September 13 is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Day
Currently, one in every 330 Americans develop cancer before the age of 20. On average, 46 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every day in the United States.
This event will support children with cancer in several different ways. The proceeds will fund pediatric cancer research and family support program through Nikki's Research Fund for Pediatric Oncology at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
