Hey, what is this? Why do we all have similar names? Well... We share common genes, and so we're each similar to the other. Depending upon how you identify people (by facial features, genotype, or whatever) we might be considered similar, and therefore a single "name" or description might suffice. But since we are all individuals, each a result of our environment and experience, we are slightly different. Hormonally and culturally we differ, yet we share common values. Our names fit this scheme rather well. To some extent, this was accidental - a trick of fate - but at least half of us were named intentionally to indicate our relationship. OK, so it's wierd, but it seemed like a fine idea at the time...
