About

Viktor Kee the Juggler with the Cirque Du Soleil's Dralion production met with the New Orleans Jugglers to discuss juggling from a professional perspective. It was more than informative; it was inspirational!

Here is a collection of various things he said...

He wants to change the perception of juggling to be that of an art form; something above being a clown or a street performer.
Whilst on stage, the trick is the transition from one routine to the next, that is where things can go wrong.
The best way to polish your act is through analyzing a video of your performance, Find the details and work on them.
Find the range of the whole picture. Although you are doing a trick with one ball, how are you holding the other one?
He likes juggling instead of simple prop manipulation, or juggling is more impressive than manipulation.
In circus school he practiced 9-10 hours per day.
"I'm never happy with my act."
If you are on stage, you should be nervous. When you cease to be nervous, then the trouble comes.
Don't plagiarize, you can get inspiration from another performer, you can get tricks from another performer, but make them your own. Take something, but make it better.
If you do something with your right hand, remember to do it from your left.
Open the pattern up, the more space between the balls, the more time you have. Use a wide, full, exaggerated pattern, it looks better to the audience.

I took several snapshots and made a slideshow of them.

I also shot a short video clip of him demonstrating a closed and an open pattern with five balls.
