Késsinnimek - Roots - Racines
Mon Petit Coin by Norm Léveillée
Version française
For this month, I would like to review the various sections of my website since it is on this site that our magazine
Késsinnimek - Roots - Racines is located. In addition, there is a personal section; one dedicated to my cousin Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha; that of another cousin Blessed Dina Délanger; and finally a huge section devoted to the Genealogy of my Ancestors. The welcome page of my website is:
www.leveillee.net
from which all the links below and my data can be accessed. As Editor of this online magazine, I have found many wonderful authors with whom I have become friends. Some of these authors whom I already had met through the internet were distant cousins related to each other through our common ancestors. The contact point of these meetings was the first website that I put together
www.leveillee.net/ancestry/index.html
which I created in November 1997. This was the result of genealogical research begun in 1985 and the verification of each piece of data that my sister Rita had given me from her 1975 through 1980 research at the American-French Genealogical Society, Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Before that time, I had a personal website at the IDS.NET server, created by a friend, whose webserver also included my high school's site ewg.k12.ri.us, which eventually got its own server on the school property. I still have the data of my personal site on my own server now at
www.leveillee.net/sitemain.htm On my website, I've also created an extensive research database on my cousin Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, which I discovered in December 1999. After a piligrimmage to her three shrines, at Auriesville and Fonda, New York, and Kahnawaké, Québec, Canada, I decided to feature my research on my website at
www.kateritekakwitha.org/kateri/
I registered the address "kateritekakawitha.org" and placed it on my "leveillee.net/kateri" site.In February of 2003, I decided to launch my online magazine Késsinnimek - Roots - Racines after having contacted several of my cousins. I asked each if he or she would like to write on the subjects of "ancestry, genealogy, family, Native American, Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha and related topics". Our first issue featured eight authors and nine articles in English and two in French.:
- Suzanne Boivin Sommerville
- Fr. Owen Taggart
- Dolorès Robillard Benoit
- Louise-Andrée Éthier aka Sundance Aquero Sharp
- Jim Carten
- Jean Quintal
- Juliana L'Heureux
- and myself, Norm Léveillée
From February 2003 through December 2005, we have featured thirty-five authors and three hundred and eighty-nine (389) articles for the first three years of publication. I have received many emails praising our authors and their articles. Their comments can be found at:

Some have thanked me for having a very detailed ancestry website from which many have found information for their own family tree. Some discoverd that we were related. With their permission, I have included their own page on my site at:
All My Relations - Toute ma parenté - Késsinnimek.
From them, I also gained much information in my quest to verify every piece of data on my site. Some others were grateful for the varied articles, links and prayers that are contained in the Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha site. Many of the emails received can be found in the Guestbook at:
Guestbook About three years ago, a distant cousin on my maternal side, Bélanger, sent me an email telling me about a distant cousin of ours named Blessed Dina Bélanger. I began my research of this "cousine". I discovered that her shrine was located in the convent of the Religious of Jesus-Mary (R.J.M.) in Sillery, Québec, Canada. My family went on several pilgrimmages to her shrine since that discovery. I have been corresponding with the religious there and received monthly emails containing thoughts gleaned from Dina's writings: Dina is thinking of you, in English, French and Spanish. I have dedicated a section of my site to this cousin:
Blessed Dina Bélanger The personal section includes some information about our historic house, built by Stephen Allen in 1787 with a short history of the house.

Thank you - Merci bien - Ktsi Oléoneh
