Program Director
Applied Mathematics
Henry Warchall received the B.A. degree in Mathematics and Physics from Northwestern University, and the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley. He held an instructorship in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas, Austin, and a visiting assistant professorship in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Rochester, prior to his appointments (successively Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor) in the Department of Mathematics at the University of North Texas. He has been a member of the permanent staff of DMS since 2001.
His research interests are in mathematical physics and nonlinear wave equations. He is currently investigating existence, stability, and scattering of multidimensional solitary waves.
