  Bio
Greg started playing guitar back in the late 70's in jam sessions and garage bands. Over the last 7 years, Greg has gotten back into music in a much bigger way, exploring his passion for jazz, rock, and blues. Recently, Greg left RELIC , a local rock/blues cover band he co-founded in 2001.
  Music
Greg has studied with such notable guitarists as Benny Beckham, John Griggs, and Mark Stefani. Benny Beckham played in the Joe Jones (jazz) trio during the 70's and 80's, backing up Ella Fitzgerald when she came to town. John Griggs is a noted author, composer, educator, and performer with many MelBay book titles to his credit. John was also personal friends with both classical master Andres Segovia and jazz/pop guitar great Charlie Byrd. Mr. Griggs continues to teach to this day somewhere in VA. Mark Stefani is the owner of Vision Music, an online learning foundation associated with the likes of Pat Martino, Bruce Forman, and Henry Johnson.

Though Greg's earliest influence when learning to play guitar was jazz, he has always harbored a love of rock and blues. As such, Greg enjoys an eclectic mix of tastes in music from cool jazz to big band through hard rock and blues. He admires guitarists as wide-ranging as George Benson, Jimmy Bruno, Carlos Montoya, Steve Howe, and Eric Clapton. Greg's favorite bands include: Cream, Zeppelin, CSN&Y as well as classic big bands like Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman.

Greg has a special fondness for Fender tube amps and electric archtop guitars. His current gig-rig consists of a recent model Gibson ES-135LE archtop guitar, a 1999 Fender Deluxe Reverb RI amp, a Digitech GNX3 or Zoom 505-II multi-effects pedal, and an Ernie Ball mono volume pedal. Greg uses D'Addario strings exclusively.

Greg enjoys writing his own music as well as participating in online communities of musicians where he can "rub elbows with big name musicians".
