(02/2009) - The song you are listening to when you load this page, The Best of Times, is one I wrote in 2006 using Roland's GR20 guitar synth. The only part I didn't play was the drums which came from the Digitech GNX3 MFX pedal, but the bass, sax, organ, strings, etc came for the GR33. As of 02/2009, I have an early 90's Roland GR-1 guitar synth. I've owned the GR33 and GR20 multiple times, but keep jettisoning them, though the GR33 is the better unit of the two. Now, with the GR1 I have alot more control over the resulting tones, but it will take me longer to get up and running on it since I have much more to suss out and less free time to do so. For my old Springlake/Dulaney/Loyola buds, I didn't play a music instrument back when we knew each other. I took up guitar late in life at 20yo after moving to Virginia. I played for a few years and then put it away for nearly 20yrs to build a career and raise a family. I started back in semi-earnest in 1998/9. With my sporadic playing history and starting so late, I can only play but so well, but I enjoy myself and playing music is a great stress-reliever. It's one of my few pasttimes that magically turns 5 minutes into 2 hours without me noticing :)-

(06/2003) Having acquired a Digitech GNX3 multi-FX pedal with built-in 8 track digital recorder and smart media card memory, I have started to amass snippets of my playing. I've actually been doing this since 1998, but used cassette tapes. With the digital recorder, I can centralize my snippets and post them.
