Looking for Jam-matesI'm a part-time musician --- a weekend warrior, if you will. I've gigged out in local bars and clubs, playing mostly classic rock. I'm not a pro musician by any means, but good 'nuf to get paid to play in bars with other others of my ilk. I'd honestly put my skill level at intermediate. I like rock and all, but I sure would like to get together with some folks on the side and try my hand at some jazz, pop, acoustic type of music. Guitar heros of mine include Monte Montgomery, George Benson, modern be-bopper Jimmy Bruno, traditonalists like George Barnes, not to mention fusionist non-guitarists like Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke. I enjoy music as diverse as blues to jazz to Irish folk, though admittedly, I don't know many standards in any of those genres. I need a reason to learn 'em and getting together with like-minded folks is a reason to learn 'em. So, if you are interested in getting together and try out a few songs that we'd agree to learn ahead of time, please contact me. I'm in my late 40's, male, chruch-goer, family man, pro career, married with teens, non-smoker, social drinker. I'd prefer to associate with folks who have similar life interests. Nothing serious to start out with, but if we did develop a kinsmanship of some sort and agreed to play out a little, that would be OK, too. Email me for more details at oasysco@cox.net. My name is Greg. |
