The layout
is almost exactly like the Golby Twin Bed/DryBath, with
barrel chairs and a pull-out table in place of the dinette.
Also, a TV storage console has been added.
TV is in the center
console, folded down. Couch on the left, across from the
eating area, makes a nice bed for two. The cabinet doors are
Formica, and very nearly only Formica. They are "hollow
core" style, with Formica inside and out, for light weight.
The coach only scales at 10,700 pounds, and that is with two
roof airs and a pod!
The TV hinges up and
locks for viewing. The TV
console
also contains "woofers" for the Sony sound system. An
80-watt power amplifier, a 10-CD changer (in the driver's
seat pedestal), a tape player, AM and FM tuners, and plenty
of controls to get all this good sound balanced and
distributed. A pair of Jensen speakers in the bedroom are
driven from up front, too.
The "Dakota Digital"
instruments include a moving bar tachometer, a percentage
readout on fuel, oil pressure, coolant (engine) temperature
in degrees, odometer, trip odometer, and indicators for high
beam and turn signals. The readouts are bright enough to
read very well in daylight.
The leather covered
steering wheel is available from Jim Bounds at the Coop, and
probably from Alex Sirum.
Above the cockpit,
sunroofs with roller shades from Wal-Mart!
Passenger side single
bed, with foot-room under the shirt-closet. The combination
microwave and broiler oven is under the cooktop.
Driver side single
bed. I moved the thermostat to the shirt closet wall to get
it away from the cold outside wall influence.
Floor lighting (seen
here in the sleeping area, between the twin beds), is
accomplished with "twinkie" or strip lighting. There is also
strip lighting above all the windows, other than the
front.
Kitchen area, with
brush finish aluminum backsplash. Cold water has under sink
filter.
Under the four-burner
cooktop is a combination microwave/broiler oven. You can
even bake biscuits and they brown nicely!
Instead of a dinette,
there are two Barrel chairs on swivels and slides, and a
folding tabletop. Adjustable as they are, they are well
suited for both living area and dining area use.
Looking toward the
bedroom, kitchen on the left, bath on the right. There is a
nifty little tilt-out dirty clothes hamper under the foot of
the passenger side bed. The bed table has both a roomy
drawer and a storage cabinet underneath.
Above the 3/way
Norcold, the designer/builder had installed a lighted
display area containing four crystal decanters that
contained a variety of alcoholic beverages. Since we are
tee-totallers, we thought it would be an excellent place to
display pictures of our two grandsons, Ryan and
Alex!
A brushed aluminum
backsplash in the bathroom reflects the "twinkie" lights for
soft illumination.
Overhead in the bath,
both a skylite and a flourescent provide bright lighting. An
original 6-inch vent fan provides plenty of
ventilation.
The separate shower is
just behind the shower curtain. Since we are over the rear
wheel well here, the shower has a seat, or bench! There is
also a removable clothes rod, so the shower can be used for
hanging long items that would wrinkle in the "shirt closets"
over the foot of the beds.
