The Fall Line is the newsletter of the OAS, and a subscription is a benefit of membership in the Society. Why "The Fall Line"? Physiographically, middle Georgia is situated on the transition zone between the coastal plain to the south and southeast and the piedmont to the north and northwest. Early travelers on the waterways of Georgia frequently encountered waterfalls at this transition zone: hence a "fall line."
The Fall Line gives information on upcoming meetings and field trips and also reports on recent chapter activities; there are also timely articles on conservation and other news about the environment. The Fall Line is published every month except July.
The editor of The Fall Line, Marie Amerson, is happy to consider submissions for publication. The deadline for materials is the 3rd Wednesday of each month.
