Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant

 

  

  

2008 Miss OCU Teen Pageant

Miss OCU Teen will:

¨      Serve as a goodwill ambassador for Oklahoma City University and the Miss OCU Pageant program

¨       Represent Oklahoma City University at the 2008 Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen Pageant (providing she meets age and residency requirements)

 

 

Miss OCU Teen will receive: 

¨      One year tuition scholarship to Oklahoma City University valued at over $19,600

¨      An official crown, banner, and trophy

¨      $300 scholarship from OCU’s Performing Arts Academy

¨      Private image consulting

¨      Entry fee to the 2008 Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen pageant

¨      Traveling opportunities as the Goodwill Ambassador for Oklahoma City University

 

 

Other OCU scholarship awards: 

¨      First runner-up will receive ½ tuition scholarship for two semesters

¨ Second through fourth runners-up will each receive ¼ tuition scholarship for two semesters

¨      Two non-finalist talent winners will each receive ¼ tuition scholarship for two semesters

¨      One non-finalist interview winner will receive ¼ tuition scholarship for two semesters

¨ The Molly Colvard Achievement Award of $250 for the contestant representing the university at the state pageant

¨      Additionally, EACH contestant who does not place within the Top Five or as a non-finalist winner will receive a $1,500 tuition waiver to OCU for two semesters!

 

 

How the Winner is Chosen:

A panel of qualified judges will score the contestants in the following categories:

¨      Talent – 35%

¨      Private Interview – 35%

¨      Evening Wear – 15%

¨      Lifestyle and Fitness in Active Wear – 10%

¨      On-Stage Question – 5%

 

 

Phases of Competition: 

¨      Talent – A two-minute presentation of your choice including costuming

¨      Private Interview – An six-minute private interview with judges to answer questions related to a fact sheet you complete about yourself; you will wear age-appropriate business attire

¨      Evening Wear – A chance to model your age-appropriate formal gown or prom dress

¨      Lifestyle and Fitness in Active Wear – An opportunity for you to model an outfit you might wear for aerobics, running, spinning, or exercising

¨      On-Stage Question – Your chance to show how you can think on your feet by answering a question about current trends, your fact sheet, or pop culture;  this phase of competition will be held during the Casual Wear portion

 

 

 

How to Enter:

 

Return the registration form prior to September 30, 2007.

 

Any young lady aged 13-18 and currently enrolled in high school or home school may enter the Miss OCU Teen Pageant.  The entry fee is $350.  This fee aids in producing the pageant.

 

Contestants are encouraged to solicit sponsors to cover the registration fee.  Some contestants are sponsored by their parents or other family members.  Sponsor fees are tax deductible as an advertising expense if your sponsor owns a business.  Finding sponsors is surprisingly easy as most organizations are pleased to support young women who represent their communities.  Sponsors names will be listed in the program book.

 

The full registration packet including the contestant’s fact sheet, photograph requirements, schedule of events, program advertising opportunities, photography and videography ordering, and other details are in an attachment below.  Completed registration packet information and the remaining entry fee must be received by September 30, 2007, to ensure your participation in the 2008 Miss Oklahoma City Teen Pageant.

 

Each contestant is encouraged to reach her educational goals and aspirations and to serve her community by becoming involved in local community service. Truly, the contestants for Miss OCU Teen are graceful, talented, poised and confident young ladies who will be the future leaders for our great state.
