Behind almost every inspiring
woman is a tale of the shy, fearful, or searching girl she once was and
what transformed her life. The Greatness Of Girls captures these poignant
moments from women such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Golda Meir, Queen Latifah,
Frida Kahlo, Maya Angelou, and Judy Blume, and provides the perfect
encouragement for preteens on up who are eager to blossom in the world.
This book is about hope. It offers personal, little-known anecdotes as
beacons of light for young readers who are working through adolescent
struggles. Topics such as friends, feelings, and school are covered
through quotes, previously published works, and personal
interviews.

The Greatness of Girls, December 13,
2001 Reviewer: A reader Susan Strong did a wonderful
job with this book. She took the stories of famous women and helped
us get to know them on a more personal level The introductions to
each chapter are beautifully written. My favorite is the intro to
Real Realtionships. Strong writes, 'Time spent with a good friend is
like sinking into a soft, comfy couch that cushions you in love and
support. Your better parts come forward- the "true you"
emerges.' While the books target audience is girls aged 13-15, I
believe EVERY woman can be inspired by it.

The Greatness of "The Greatness of Girls",
October 17, 2001
In a word, inspiring.
And one musn't only be a young adult to truly enjoy this wonderfully
uplifting piece. As a mother of two young girls, I find Susan
Strong's compilation of thoughts from celebrity women as well as her
own pertinent contributions to add up to one terrific resource for
all of us who may need, now and again, a little
inspiration/motivation/reassurance while navigating through life.
This is one book that will soon be on my daughters' "must read"
list.
