THE PEOPLE IN BEIJING
There are about 1 billion people in Beijing, There are 56 different ethnic groups in China, and they all
managed to find a place here. After years of decrepitude, the Chinese are finally gaining improvements in their living standards and the economy. Beijing hosts a number of top writers and artists. In fact, "Many of its excellent films and TV programs, plays and literary works have won various top prizes in the country." There are also first class museums and many cultural relics. There are 64 "schools of higher learning", producing over 600,000 students in 20 years. There was a civil war in China almost 60 years ago, which brought about the People's Republic of China. Before that, China was a dictatorship, with an emperor leading the country. One emperor decided to build the Great Wall of China, as discussed in the Great Wall of China page. In China, almost everybody speaks Standard Chinese or Mandarin, with a few exceptions in different ethnic groups. In fact, Mandarin is the most widely spoken language in the world, even though English is the universal language. I guess that's what happens when everything is "Made in China".
