GLOBALIZATION - THE REAL ISSUE
America is a sovereign nation of laws and law abiding citizens obey them. Our States have sovereign borders. The CONSTITUTION States ….
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican form of Government, and shall protect each of them against invasion.” Article IV Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution
Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8USC 1324 states “all who assists an alien to obtain employment…knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions commits a federal felony. Now the moral issue---to obey or break our laws.
America was built as a “melting pot” with immigrants from
all nations. During these “melting pot” days, legal immigrants took it as a source of pride and necessity to learn our language and become contributing citizens. They were self sufficient. This current invasion of people seeks to become the steering mechanism for interpretation of American laws and seeks only what is beneficial to THEM. Immigrants in past centuries came here to become Americans, not to remain foreigners, much less to proclaim the rights of their homelands to reclaim American soil, as some of the activist groups are doing.
The invaders show a willingness to break our laws from the moment they illegally cross our borders. Rule of Law sets America apart from any and all nations and draws citizens from throughout the world. Yet, this coveted
Rule-of-Law is first to be trampled by a person or group of persons bent on anarchy. Those who first came from abroad, came through an authorized port of entry with health
screening and authorized documentation papers. They came to make a new home for themselves and committed themselves to becoming part of America. These invaders or illegal aliens disregard and have no respect for America’s laws. They steal into the country, have no health screening and no authorized documentation papers. They come to exploit economic opportunity while proudly flaunting their determination to continue in their allegiance to a foreign flag, and foreign country -- that is colonization -- NOT immigration. These invaders do not value citizenship nor want it.
Large numbers of foreigners are marching proudly under the flag of primarily one foreign country, to demand the right to live in the United States. They claim that the issue is immigration. But by their own actions they reveal what is in fact a determined effort to force Americans to accept large foreign colonies in our midst, and to pay handsomely for the
privilege of doing so. Citizens have both the right and the moral obligation and must say NO.
So what about moral responsibility?
True moral responsibility requires that we compare the good we may do by violating the immigration laws with the harm that will result from destroying our capacity to enforce immigration rules and regulations, or for that matter, any of our other laws. Uncontrolled migration results in pressures upon our economic, social and political infrastructure that will degrade both our material well being and the fragile fabric of our national identity.
The result will be greater poverty for all, social friction and unrest, and sharper more incompatible differences. Immigration control is prudent and necessary for the common good of the country. Moral reasoning that ignores the “common good” is in fact “not moral at all“.
Immigration control has served the “common good“, so effective immigration laws are appropriate and morally necessary. Those who now encourage citizens to ignore such laws, are undermining their effectiveness and encouraging them to take particular actions that will contribute to the overall collapse of the economic, social and political infrastructure, resulting in far greater misery and suffering than they purport to alleviate. Promoting Sedition is a dangerous thing.
It is irresponsible, immoral, unfair and dishonest to react to this analysis as if it represents some willingness to slam the door of opportunity in the face of the hopes and aspirations of less fortunate people around the world. On the contrary, the effort to develop and enforce responsible immigration policies aims to assure that the invitation to hope is not extended in ways that destroy its fulfillment. It is also intended to ensure that
policies do not aid and abet the tendency of foreign elites to enrich themselves at the expense of their people, and then escape accountability by pushing victims across the border into the United states. Is it morally right to facilitate the corruption and greed of these self serving exploiters? We have a moral obligation to discourage any who think they have the right to establish foreign enclaves in our midst, in order to gain economic advantages for themselves.
The “Immigration Smokescreen” repeated over and over by President Bush and our political leaders tells us that his “guest worker program” is not intended to lead to citizenship for illegal aliens. At the same time, he and many U.S. Senators want us to believe that the latest so-called immigration “reforms” they are pushing are somehow in line with the great tradition of immigration that literally created the American people. This is a
lie!
In the past, people coming from abroad came to be part of America. They brought customs and creeds that enriched our emerging national identity, but they also accepted the challenge of becoming an integral part of it. Citizenship is the proper fruit of that kind of authentic immigration and that is what makes it good for America. To accept the presence of large numbers of people who maintain their allegiance to a foreign flag, foreign culture and language and who mean to claim many of the benefits of our generous welfare and social security system to sustain them in their home country, is a departure from the citizenship tradition that built this nation.
Economies of nations dictate numbers of laborers needed. Illegal entry does not allow the economy to dictate workers needed for job creation thus IA‘s have over 8% unemployment. Over the past 30 years, the enormous number
of invaders crossing illegally have come to expect a job in America, just because they got here. It is estimated that in 2005, 1 million illegals were added in population as well as 2 million legal immigrants, through work permits, family unification, visas, etc. However the Department of Labor states only about 1 million jobs have been created.
What happens to 12 million illegal workers when an economic downturn occurs - and it will? “Open border” advocates insist that the invaders are victims who need our “protection” and somehow U.S. citizens are responsible for the welfare of all these invaders. NO! NO! NO!
Some would say, so what is a border, borders are imaginary lines and should be dissolved. Today, pro open borders advocates promote grievances, not gratitude, much less patriotism. American people’s intelligence
should not be insulted by those who act as if this is simply a question about movement of abstract people across an abstract line.
Some Free-market advocates argue that the same principle which justifies free international trade in commodities should justify the free movement of people as well. But this ignores the fact that with people there are consequences.
Commodities are used up and vanish. People generate more people, who become a permanent and expanding part of the country’s population and electorate.
It is an irreversible process -- and a potentially dangerous process, as Europeans have discovered with their “guest worker” programs that have brought in many who are fundamentally hostile to the culture and the people that welcomed them.
Unlike commodities, people in a welfare state have legal claims on other people’s tax dollars and expensive services in schools and hospitals, not
to mention the high cost of imprisoning many of them who commit crimes.
The current marches have shown citizens that border security is not paramount to the invaders, neither is America’s well being nor the American flag. We are expected to believe that these protest somehow entitles invaders to condemn the source of the freedoms they seek.
State and Federal laws prohibit illegal aliens from receiving benefits --The Federal Food stamp program being an exception.
STATE Statute S 56-230.73 benefits for only Qualified Alien
ITEM “G” states, Sponsors shall be expected to meet their financial commitments to the immigrants whom they sponsor and for whom they sign
affidavits of support.
FEDERAL Sec 411 H.R. 3734 Aliens who are not qualified aliens or non immigrants are ineligible for State and Local public benefits
America simply cannot be the welfare state for the entire world. The invaders countries should be “lobbied” and “marched on” and “picketed” to demand that their leaders be punished for the corruption that keeps citizens in poverty in their countries. The Center for Latin American Studies believes Mexico in particular should create job opportunities, extend credit, spend on infrastructure and promote development to improve the lives of their people.
So IRON challenges the notion that Americans should be responsible for the world‘s poverty. Legal immigrants have always been able to bring family members into the U.S. by signing an “Affidavit to sponsor” that family member. Employers have always been able to hire cheap labor by
signing an affidavit accepting responsibility for their employee’s expenses. However, Greed has dictated that these non-citizens and illegal aliens should become “wards of the state” -- the taxpayers responsibility --- to house, feed, clothe, treat medically, and educate - for the rest of their lives and not only them, but their off spring. These invaders have booklets telling them where to find coyotes, fraudulent papers and where welfare offices are in order to fraudulently obtain benefits. Identity theft and fraudulent ID is rampant in Oklahoma. Your social security number can be bought for about $50. State agencies are willing to sign up fraudulent applicants and instructs their employees not to fill out forms reporting these committing fraud against the taxpayers or identity theft against YOU. WHY - because state agencies receive $1.30 from federal funds for every $1 in state money spent. And YOU won’t know someone is using your social security number for another 18
months or so.
Citizens are saying WE are not willing to subsidize the “dead beat” employers any longer.
That, citizens, is the crux of the entire issue. Invaders are demanding a socialist welfare state for themselves while citizens see their property taxes doubling in the last 8 years, medical premiums and co-pays skyrocketing with less benefits.
Should I demand from each of you $2,300 and with your hands tied, I reach in your pocket and take $2,300 of you money? You would call me a thief. Yet, illegal aliens committing fraud against American taxpayers do exactly that. Senator Tom Adelson’s figures published in the Tulsa World last year substantiate that each native born household must subsidize yearly an illegal alien family with $2,300 of YOUR money that should rightfully be used on YOUR own family. Remember, YOU must earn a total
of $2,921 with a tax base of 27% to be able to give me my demanded $2,300. For taxpayers, it is the same.
Current disregard of employment laws by illegal employers hiring illegal workers has an unfair advantage over employers who follow the laws, paying FICA and FUTA, Medicaid and workers comp, as our laws require. The employee works for slave wages and is often “paid under the table“. His $10 an hour wage is all spend able. Yours however will have a tax rate of 27% applied so you have $7.30 spendable. Employers then reap greater profits.
Americans and LEGAL immigrants are competing for jobs on an unfair playing field. It's not fair that citizens are hurt by depressed wages and missed employment opportunities, says Harvard economist George Borjas. “Cheap labor advocates” proclaim America can uplift the entire world by bringing other
nations’ poverty and uneducated workers here. However, the newest crop of illegals displace employed illegal aliens who arrived 2-5 years earlier - thus repeating over and over again.
So who profits from this illegal invasion. Certainly someone must. The employers who exploit workers paying slave labor profits. The immigration attorneys, the Chamber of Commerce promoting businesses and dues as well as the Hispanic Chambers profit, faith based groups dispensing federal funds while building their congregations profit, the human and drug traffickers profit, and sadly illegal aliens home countries who exploit them profits as well as our own Government. Mexico alone receives $20 BILLION in remittances from their citizens working in the U.S AND according to the World Bank, money transfers to countries outside the U.S. amounted to $133 BILLION in 2002. Minimal taxes are paid on these monies and that
$133 BILLION does not re-enter the U.S. economy to buy goods and services.
BEAR STEARNS report of January 2005 warns that the invaders “underground economy” conceals the economic impact of the “below-market” labor supply. This accounting issue will lead to government policy errors in our near future as it is about to top $1 trillion - at a great cost to many by Jim McTague Barrons
