I really enjoy whittling and try to do some each day. Just for the enjoyment, I carve caricature heads form small blocks of wood, allowing myself one hour from start to finish. The block is usually two or two and a half inches tall and one or 1 1/8 inches square. At the end of the hour, it is finished, completed or not. I date and number each one so I can see if I am improving or just getting in a rut. The photo below shows just a few random selections for over 150 stashed in a box in the closet.
